Structural Biology Shared Resource (SBSR)
The Structural Biology Shared Resource (SBSR) supports a wide range of protein science technologies for identifying new targets and defining molecular mechanisms, and for the generation of new tool compounds and therapeutic leads. These services include (1) state-of-the-art protein production; (2) high resolution structure determination by X-ray crystallography, NMR and cryo-EM; (3) significantly enhanced mass spectrometry-based proteomics analyses; and (4) the flexibility to implement additional advanced technologies to support the needs of MECC members. Through the SBSR, MECC members and other SRs have access to state-of-the-art infrastructure located in-house and at regional centers (New York Structural Biology Center) and national laboratories (Brookhaven National Labs). The utility of these resources is maximized by sustained access to dedicated local expertise.
