Three first-year Einstein students were recipients of the 2014 Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) program scholarships. The nationally competitive MSTAR program is sponsored by the American Federation for Aging Research, The National Institute on Aging, and The Hartford Foundation, and introduces students to research and academic experiences that they might not otherwise have during medical school.

The MSTAR program provides students with a summer experience in aging-related research and pairs them with a faculty mentor in geriatrics throughout their medical school career. Award recipients participate in an eight- to twelve-week structured research, clinical training, and didactic program in geriatrics. Additionally, MSTAR scholars present a poster at the Annual Meeting of the American Geriatrics Society in Washington, DC, May 15-17, 2015, and participate in a poster presentation and networking event with prominent aging and geriatrics research scholars.
