Health Technology Committee

The Health Technology Innovation Committee is a housestaff-run group at Montefiore Einstein. As physicians, we must learn to understand healthcare technologies and help direct their development and implementation. This committee was formed to cultivate a culture of innovation by exposing residents and fellows to novel medical technologies that have been developed inside and outside of Montefiore. We focus on educational and research activities that will help us to understand and address opportunities for improvement at Montefiore Einstein.

We are growing a community of housestaff and future attendings committed to the continued improvement of healthcare through technology. We function as a collaborative team and each member contributes unique expertise and perspectives. We host regularly scheduled housestaff-run journal clubs focused around the current state of research in distinct fields (e.g. artificial intelligence, mobile health applications, remote patient monitoring through sensors) of healthcare technology. Our committee seeks to promote housestaff research projects and faculty/housestaff mentor-mentee relationships. We facilitate events to learn from speakers who pioneer new technologies at Montefiore and in industry.

Our goal is to stimulate further interest and career development among housestaff. For more information, contact Sunit Jariwala (sjariwal@montefiore.org).
