A Diversity and Inclusivity Q&A
Shanisha GordonIt is my hope that we can meaningfully acknowledge and address racialized issues within our community with the courage and conviction especially required in this political clime.
Embracing diversity—in all of its forms—at Einstein is not just integral to our mission statement as a leading academic institution; it is a living testament to validating and celebrating my existence as an invaluable and active agent of scientific progress and achievement.
I actively and regularly engage others in conversations around inclusivity. I recently had the opportunity to participate in a program “Undoing Racism,” offered through the Office of Diversity Enhancement; it unabashedly addressed the social construct of “race” and the necessary conversations and actions to be had around it.
It is my hope that we can meaningfully acknowledge and address racialized issues within our community with the courage and conviction especially required in this political clime.
