Learning Environment The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is responsible for ensuring that all students learn in an ethical and humanistic environment that fosters collegiality. What is an optimal Learning Environment? While the facilities and tools available for learning such as up-to-date classrooms and audiovisual aids, or hospitals that are well equipped create the back-bone for medical education, interpersonal interactions are at the very heart of an effective and meaningful educational experience. We provide this learning environment by ensuring that professionalism pervades the educational experience. This is accomplished by fostering ethical, respectful, humanistic and caring behavior among students, and between students, postdocs, faculty, residents and ancillary staff. Exemplary teaching is rewarded and those who threaten the positive learning environment receive remediation.
