Professional Interests
Dr. Komal Bajaj is a physician leader in New York City, catalyzing transformation across all facets of healthcare delivery. She serves as Chief Quality Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi/NCB and as Medical Director of Sustainability for NYC Health + Hospitals. She is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Bajaj was appointed by the Secretary of HHS to the the AHRQ National Advisory Council.
Dr. Bajaj attended Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and completed training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in Reproductive Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and continues to deliver cutting-edge OB/GYN-genetics care. Sparked by desire to incorporate contemporary educational theory into her work, she completed a Masters in Health Professional Education from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
Dr. Bajaj engages in conversation internationally on advancing women’s health, digital technologies, agency-building strategies to promote planetary wellbeing, and the use of simulation to promote healthcare quality and safety. Her work has been featured in mainstream outlets such as the New York Times, Modern Healthcare, NPR, Beckers Healthcare, and Crains New York as well as healthcare entities such as NEJM Catalyst, JAMA Health Forum, BMJ Quality and Safety, and Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
