Apostolos Dimitroulias, MD, PhD, FACS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Attending Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, an American College of Surgeons certified Adult Level 1 and Pediatric Level 2 center in Bronx, New York.
Dr. Dimitroulias received his Medical Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He completed his Orthopedic Residency in University Hospital of Larissa, Greece. In 2008 he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Following his residency training he completed a Fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC and then a Fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He has practiced for 3 years as Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at Lock Haven Hospital, Lock Haven, PA and following that for 3 years as Attending Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, (ACS Level 2 trauma center). Since 2016 has been practicing Orthopedic Trauma at Jacobi Medical Center. In 2020 he received the Teacher of the Year award.
His clinical interests include all aspects of Orthopedic Trauma with special interest in articular fractures of the knee and ankle joint, calcaneus fractures and periprosthetic fractures.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Orthopedic Trauma Association, AO North America, and Fellow of American College of Surgeons.
