One allele of Crkl gene is deleted in most of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome patients, and up to 62% of patients in our cohort have congenital heart defects. Crkl gene encodes an adaptor protein involving in many signal pathways in cells. Mice Crkl null embryos exhibit various aspects of heart defects and die around embryonic 16.5 days. My projects mainly focus on the study of the tissue specific function of Crkl in mouse heart development. We use mouse as research model aiming to find out the molecular mechanism of Crkl function in mouse, also in human early heart developments.
