Jessica M. Yeh
<p>Jessica Yeh, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus centers on pediatric anesthesia with a particular interest in pediatric regional anesthesia and pain management.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences in Melbourne, Australia in 2014, Dr. Yeh completed an internship at Austin Health in Melbourne in 2016, followed by her surgical residency at the same institution in 2017. She came to the United States to continue her medical training, completing an anesthesiology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2022, where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Yeh then completed a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2023.</p><p>Dr. Yeh’s research focuses on procedural sedation in pediatrics, opioid reduction using enhanced recovery after surgery protocols and environmental sustainability in anesthesia. Her work has been shared through peer-reviewed publications and presentations.</p><p>Dr. Yeh is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is a member of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and the American Medical Association.</p>
Giselle Jaconia
<p>Giselle Jaconia, MD, is Director, Recruitment, Anesthesiology, Assistant Program Director, Anesthesiology Residency Program and Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Jaconia has expertise in providing anesthesia services for pediatric patients.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and behavior from Columbia University in 2013, Dr. Jaconia earned her Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 2017. She then completed her residency in anesthesiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University in 2021. Dr. Jaconia remained at this institution to continue her medical training, completing a clinical fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology in 2022.</p><p>Dr. Jaconia’s research interests include analyzing best practices for teaching residents, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on residency education, and pediatric sedation for critically ill patients. She has worked on several research projects and her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Dr. Jaconia also focuses on resident and fellow anesthesiology education and medical simulation.</p><p>Dr. Jaconia is a member of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia. In 2021, she won “Best Paper” at the Society for Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perinatology’s Annual Meeting.</p>
William M. Jackson

Dr. Jackson is a graduate of Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health's Patient<br />Oriented Research Master's Program and a former Virginia Apgar Research Fellow at Columbia<br />University Irving Medical Center. He has published research on a range of topics including<br />neurodevelopmental outcomes of anesthetic exposure in children, COVID-19 in pediatric patients,<br />and executive function in children with heart disease.
<p>William M. Jackson, MD, is Division Chief, Pediatric Anesthesiology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Jackson’s clinical focus is in pediatric anesthesiology, pediatric acute and chronic pain medicine and pediatric regional anesthesia.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Art in biochemistry from New York University in 2007, Dr. Jackson attended Columbia University, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2012. He completed his anesthesiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian in 2016, followed by his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York in 2017. In 2019, Dr. Jackson earned his Master of Science in Patient Oriented Research from Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health.</p><p>Dr. Jackson’s research explores a range of topics including neurodevelopmental outcomes of anesthetic exposure in children, COVID-19 in pediatric patients and executive function in children with heart disease. His research is shared through several peer-reviewed publications as well as poster presentations, oral presentations and invited lectures.</p><p>Dr. Jackson is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. <p>Jinu Kim, MD, is Chief, Neuroanesthesia and Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Kim’s clinical focus is in neuroanesthesia, pediatric neuroanesthesia, pediatric scoliosis anesthesia and interventional neuroradiology.</p><p>In 1993, Dr. Kim received his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College. He went to State University of New York Downstate Medical Center for his medical education, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1997. He began his postdoctoral training at New York University Hospital, completing his internship and general surgery residency in 2000. He later pursued his anesthesiology residency at Brookdale Hospital, completing it in 2007. He followed this with a neuroanesthesia fellowship at Roosevelt Hospital.</p><p>Dr. Kim’s research focuses on intraoperative thrombolysis during spine surgery, anesthesia for pituitary surgery and intraoperative monitoring of motor-evoked potentials. He has published his research in peer-reviewed journals and books and has presented his work at national conferences.</p><p>Dr. Kim is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology, and is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care, the International Anesthesia Research Society and the American Society of Anesthesiology.</p>

Dr. Chao’s research focus is to expand knowledge of early anesthetic effects through observational studies utilizing the electroencephalogram (EEG) during anesthesia in infants and young children. The long-term goal of this research is to improve patient care and enhance safety for all children requiring anesthesia.
<p>Jerry Y. Chao, MD, MS, is an attending anesthesiologist and Associate Professor, Anesthesiology at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Chao’s clinical focus is pediatric anesthesiology with a particular interest in regional anesthesia and spinal anesthesia in infants.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brown University in 2002, Dr. Chao attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2006. His postgraduate training included completing an intership in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2007, residency in anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2010, and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford in 2011. In 2016, he earned his Master of Science in clinical research methods at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.</p><p>Dr. Chao’s research focus is to expand knowledge of early anesthetic effects through observational studies utilizing the electroencephalogram (EEG) during anesthesia in infants and young children. The long-term goal of this research is to improve patient care and enhance safety for all children requiring anesthesia. Dr. Chao receives funding from a KL2 Mentored Career Development Award and has been the recipient of other research grant support. Dr. Chao has shared his research through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts, and national and regional presentations.</p><p>Dr. Chao is board certified and serves on national committees as a member of several professional societies including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care. In 2020, Dr. Chao was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society in recognition of his excellence in medical student education.</p>
