<p>Iffath Abbasi Hoskins, MD, FACS, FACOG, is Vice Chair, Faculty Recruiting Retention & Development, Chief Obstetric Safety Officer and Associate Director, Labor and Delivery at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Hoskins’ clinical focus is on maternal fetal medicine.</p><p>In 1975, Dr. Hoskins earned her medical degree at Dow Medical College, University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan. She later came to the United States and pursued postgraduate training, completing a yearlong internship in psychiatry and internal medicine at George Washington University in 1978, followed by a yearlong psychiatry residency at George Washington University and St. Elizabeth’s Hospitals in 1979, and a three-year residency at National Naval Medical Center in 1982. In 1985, Dr. Hoskins completed her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Uniformed Services University of the Health Services, F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine, National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.</p><p>Dr. Hoskins’ research focuses on surgical complications in obstetrics and infectious diseases in obstetrics. She has shared her extensive research through peer-reviewed journals, numerous invited presentations at national and international symposia, book chapters and media appearances. She is also a reviewer for several medical journals including <em>Obstetrics & Gynecology</em>, the <em>American Journal of Perinatology</em>, <em>Military Medicine</em> and <em>British Medical Journal</em>, among others.</p><p>Dr. Hoskins is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hoskins was the 73rd President of the ACOG and is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, the New York Perinatal Society and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. Dr. Hoskins has an endowed biomedical research facility, the "William and Iffath Hoskins Center for Biomedical Research" at the Savannah Campus of Mercer University in Georgia, to honor Dr. Hoskins’s contributions to women’s healthcare.</p>
Elizabeth M. Gromet
<p style="font-family: Times; font-size: medium;">Elizabeth M. Gromet, MD, is a board-certified attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Assistant Clerkship Director, and Weiler Labor and Delivery clerkship site director for OB/GYN at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Gromet’s clinical interests focus on gynecologic care including abnormal uterine bleeding, contraceptive care, fibroid management and minimally invasive surgery. Her obstetric focus is in general prenatal care including preconception counseling, multifetal gestations and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.</p>
<p style="font-family: Times; font-size: medium;">A graduate of Georgetown University, Dr. Gromet received her Bachelor of Science in neurobiology in 2014. She then attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2018. She pursued her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, completing it in 2022.</p>

Steve Zheng
Dr. Zheng’s clinical interests include laparoscopic surgery, chronic pelvic pain, general obstetrics, contraception, fibroids and abnormal menstrual bleeding.
<p>Steve Zheng, MD, is an attending physician and Instructor in obstetrics & gynecology and women’s health at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Zheng’s clinical interests include laparoscopic surgery, chronic pelvic pain, general obstetrics, contraception, fibroids and abnormal menstrual bleeding.</p><p>Dr. Zheng received his Bachelor of Science from SUNY Stony Brook University in 2011. He later attended St. George’s School of Medicine in St. George’s, Grenada, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2018. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 2022, taking on the role of Residency Education Chief in his final year.</p><p>Dr. Zheng is a junior fellow with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.</p>
Sameera S. Vangara
<p>Sameera Vangara, MD, is an attending physician and Instructor in obstetrics and gynecology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Vangara’s clinical focus is on obstetrics, gynecology, public health, health policy, medical school and resident education. She is a devoted patient advocate, with interests in public and global health, medical ethics, and interested in public and global health and medical ethics.</p><p>In 2013, Dr. Vangara graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biology. She then attended the Miller School of Medicine at University of Miami, earning her medical degree in 2018. She completed her residency at State University of New York Downstate, Kings County Hospital in 2022, taking on the role of administrative chief resident in her final year.</p><p>Dr. Vangara’s research follows her interest in obstetrics, gynecology and healthy policy. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed publications and shared through poster presentations.</p>

Dr. Peralta's interests include reproductive health for adolescents and medical education.</p><p>In 2010, Dr. Peralta received her Bachelor of Science in psychology and women’s studies from SUNY Stony Brook University. In 2014, she began her medical education at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2018. In 2022, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.</p><p>Dr. Peralta's research builds on general obstetrics and gynecology. She has shared her research through abstracts and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Peralta is a member of several professional societies including the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American Medical Association.</p>

Dr. Gutta’s clinical focus is on general obstetrics and gynecology, family planning, contraceptive counseling and abnormal uterine bleeding.</p><p>After completing her Bachelor of Science degree at University of Michigan in 2012, Dr. Gutta pursued her Master of Public Health at the institution’s School of Public Health, earning her degree in 2014. She then attended Wayne State University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2018. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Temple University Hospital in 2022, taking on the role of administrative chief in her final year.</p><p>Dr. Gutta’s research focuses on obstetrics and gynecology. She has shared her research through peer-reviewed publications as well as posters and oral presentations.</p><p>Dr. Gutta is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.</p>
