Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR)
The BSR provides statistical expertise to cancer center investigators focused on all phases of basic science, translational, clinical, and epidemiological research, including studies of health services, cancer care delivery, and cancer prevention. Modern technologies generate massive amounts of information, which offer unprecedented opportunities for novel cancer research endeavors, but also pose considerable hurdles for managing, processing, analyzing, and interpreting all the data. These methodological challenges can be addressed or minimized by providing MECC investigators with access to a robust BSR that is staffed by experienced personnel with a wide range of expertise, who are not only accomplished collaborators and educators, but also at the forefront of statistical innovation. The overall goal in accomplishing these objectives is to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective system of statistical support for MECC investigators.
