Directions

The MRRC is located on the Albert Einstein College of Medicine campus, adjacent to Weiler Hospital.

The site is easily accessible from major roadways. Upon arrival, please refer to the campus map below for the exact building location (MRRC is listed as #7).

Parking

Visitor parking is available at the Sackett Avenue commercial lot located in front of Weiler Hospital.

Please allow extra time for parking, especially during morning and midday peak hours, as entry may require waiting in line.

After parking, exit toward Weiler Hospital and turn right. Follow the stairs located along the hospital side entrance and proceed following signs to the “Gruss MRRC / MRI”. All visitors must check in at the Security Desk upon entering any Einstein facility.

MRRC Front Desk

The MRRC Front Desk is located on the ground floor of the facility. Please check in at the front desk upon arrival. The front desk staff will assist you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your visit.

Before Your Scan

Most MRI studies do not require dietary restrictions. However, if you are unsure about study-specific instructions, please consult your study Principal Investigator or research coordinator prior to your appointment.

Scan Day Preparation

To ensure safety within the MRI environment, you will be provided with MRI-safe scrubs before your scan. All personal clothing containing metal must be removed.

Please avoid wearing makeup, as certain metallic components may interfere with MRI imaging quality.

During the Scan

Prior to scanning, you will complete a safety screening questionnaire and be interviewed by an MRI technologist. This screening is essential to ensure that no implanted devices or medical conditions (such as pacemakers or metal implants) pose a risk during imaging.

If you have any implanted medical devices, please bring documentation or identification cards related to the device. All information is confidential and used strictly for safety evaluation.

• Please remove all jewelry, body piercings, and metal accessories.
• If you use a medical patch, consult your physician prior to removal.
• Inform staff in advance if you anticipate any difficulty following preparation instructions.

During the scan, the technologist will communicate with you via intercom. You will also be given an emergency call button to alert staff if assistance is needed. You may be asked to remain still or hold your breath depending on the imaging protocol.

After the Scan

After your MRI examination, you will change back into your personal clothing and retrieve your belongings. In some studies, a brief debriefing may be provided by research staff.

All research MRI scans are reviewed by a qualified radiologist. If any clinically significant findings are identified, the study director will contact you. Otherwise, results are not routinely communicated or shared with outside healthcare providers.
