Graduate students are guaranteed student housing for all years in the Ph.D. program. Rent is subsidized and is significantly cheaper than the market rate of rent in the area.
Paying Your Rent
There are several ways to pay your rent, including a new, convenient payroll deduction option.
-
Direct debit from your stipend payment through payroll deduction – Einstein is introducing a new rent-pay program for fall 2023: Since you receive a stipend payment twice a month (on the 15th and on the last day of the month), you can choose to have your monthly rent equally deducted so that half of your rent is deducted from your stipend payment on the 15th and the other half of your rent is deducted from your second check of the month. Splitting the payments can help you with budgeting your expenses each month.
To apply for payroll deduction, complete this payroll deduction authorization form. Please print and return your completed authorization form to the housing office. Your authorization will remain in effect until you email the housing office to cancel it. Direct any questions to the housing office (einsteinhousing@montefiore.org) or the payroll office (payroll@einsteinmed.edu).
- Personal check –You can either mail your check, payable to AECOM Housing, for the full amount of your rent to the housing office or drop off your payment in the gray box outside the housing office door.
- Credit card –To make rent payments using your credit card (Visa or Mastercard only), create a user name and password for access to the Credit Card Portal.
- Bill pay through your bank –Set up the housing office as a payee using your bank’s bill pay option. The bank will send checks to the housing office to pay your rent each month.
