Professional Interests

Dr. Golda Hudes is a Professor of Medicine (Allergy & Immunology) and of Otorhinolaryngology at Einstein. Her research focuses on asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis. She is a Principal Investigator of multiple clinical trials evaluating the efficacy & safety of traditional and experimental drugs in asthma. Dr. Hudes collaborates with Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Mayo Clinic on the research project evaluating biologic treatment in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis. Currently she is investigating the relationship between different asthma phenotypes and COVID 19 infection outcomes as well as persistent eosinophilia etiologic factors in inner city population. Her past research focused on immune changes in patients with bronchial asthma during speleotherapy in karst caves. She has published journal articles, abstracts, review articles and book chapters. She mentored numerous fellows, residents and medical students, rotating through the Allergy Division.

Dr. Hudes holds MD and PhD degrees from Tbilisi State Medical Institute (Republic of Georgia, USSR). She completed a fellowship in allergy and internal medicine in Georgia; internships and residencies at Metropolitan Hospital Center, Stony Brook University Medical Center, and Jacobi Medical Center; and the Einstein Allergy/Immunology Fellowship Training Program. Prior to her appointment at Einstein she was head of the Department of Allergy at the Research Institute of Rehabilitation in Tbilisi (USSR).

Dr. Hudes is board certified in allergy and immunology; Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology; Fellow of American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and a member of the executive committee of the New York Allergy and & Asthma Society, where she has served as president, treasurer, and secretary.
