Dr. Harshal Shukla is an accomplished Clinical Pharmacy Manager specializing in Surgical Services and Anesthesiology at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. He is primarily located at the Weiler Campus of Montefiore Medical Center. Additionally, he holds the position of Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the esteemed Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He actively contributes to the development of future pharmacists and residents as a dedicated preceptor for both pharmacy students and PGY-1 residents at MMC. He held the position of Montefiore PGY1 Residency Program Coordinator from 2021 to 2023. Dr. Shukla's dedication to advancing the pharmacy profession extends beyond his local institution. He has served on various committees at the national level, including the ASHP New Practitioner Forum Membership and Outreach, Clinical Leadership, and Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Educational Steering Committees. Currently, he holds a position on the esteemed ASHP Council of Public Policy.
Within the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists (NYSCHP), Dr. Shukla has been an integral member, previously serving as a delegate and contributing to the New Practitioners & Support Personnel Committees. Additionally, he served as the Chair of Communications for NYSCHP, Director of Advocacy (board member) and Chair of Public Policy. In the NYC chapter, Dr. Shukla has held significant leadership positions, including Director-at-Large, President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past-President. In 2017, Dr. Shukla received NYCSHP New Practitioner Year Award in recognition of leadership and contributions to pharmacy practice in New York City.
In 2024, Dr. Shukla was honored with a leadership award by the Montefiore Patient Safety Teams for his exceptional contribution in enhancing patient safety. Additionally, he serves as the Co-Chair of Surgery Anesthesia Council for the System Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee for Montefiore Health System.
