Wednesday, December 12, 2012Purchase Power — Natalia Volodarsky has joined procurement services as purchasing manager scientific. Among her responsibilities, she will oversee the department’s science division, including scientific procurement and small business subcontracting requirements. She also will coordinate and administer the alcohol and freezer programs.
Wednesday, September 19, 2012Administrative Intro — Grace Gillott has joined the procurement department as administrative assistant to Jack Zencheck, chief procurement officer for Yeshiva University. She will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the procurement office as well as the department budget.
Friday, September 14, 2012The Genn Prize will be awarded annually to a management staff employee who has demonstrated outstanding performance and commitment in improving the College of Medicine. The prize was established by Emanuel “Manny” Genn, former associate dean for finance and administration, and his wife Myra through a generous endowment.
The award provides financial assistance for the professional and career development of Einstein’s career managers and administrators. Its goal is to aid in developing skills, knowledge and other qualities that prepare career staff employees for career growth within the College of Medicine.

Spiegel hosted the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Service Recognition Program, celebrating staff at the College of Medicine who have achieved important service milestones during 2011. Honorees included staff with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service. The event was held in Lubin Dining Hall and included a dessert reception.
Friday, March 30, 2012A New Option — During this fall’s annual open enrollment period, Yeshiva University will introduce a new option for health plan elections, effective January 1, 2012. The new plan, available through Empire, is called Bronze Choice; it will combine a high-deductible health plan and a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account. The idea behind this combination is to provide greater flexibility, responsibility and discretion over how you spend your healthcare dollars. Please click on new health plan option to review some key facts about the plan. In addition, human resources has drafted some frequently asked questions and a glossary of terms to help with understanding the new plan. Watch for an open enrollment brochure during November with further information.

All are welcome to help celebrate these individuals and their service to Einstein.
Tuesday, October 18, 2011Healthy Numbers — Thanks to a collaborative effort among Einstein, Montefiore Medical Center and the 1199 Service Employees International Union, faculty and staff are invited to attend Einstein's first Fall Health Fair on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., in Lubin Dining Hall. Attendees will benefit from free health screenings to help “Know Your Numbers” concerning hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol, while also receiving information about nutrition, smoking cessation, stress management and employee assistance programs. There also will be fun activities offered at the Falk Recreation Center, including tours of the facilities, a free zumba class and yoga demos. Admission to the Falk Center will be free all day. All screenings and measurements will be conducted with the strictest confidentiality, and results will be released only to the individuals. Participants must present a valid ID for entry.
