Biography

<p>Anna Maria Lasak, MD, is Clinical Director, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Director, Women&rsquo;s Health Rehabilitation Fellowship Program at Montefiore. She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, her clinical focus has been on women&rsquo;s health, specifically pelvic floor rehabilitation and lymphedema management.</p><p>In 1993, Dr. Lasak received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University in Warsaw. Her postgraduate training began in 1997, with a year-long internship at St. John&rsquo;s Episcopal Hospital. She then completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2001, becoming Chief Resident in her final year.</p><p>Her research focus is treating urinary incontinence with biomechanical foot orthosis. In 2017, Dr. Lasak became Principal Investigator in an ongoing research project on this topic. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and articles and has been presented nationally.</p><p>Dr. Lasak is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society and of the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS). </p>

Biography

<p>Sikha Guha, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Rehabilitation Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus centers on academic teaching and patient care with musculoskeletal problems, general physiatry and neuromuscular disorders, including electrodiagnosis. She is the coordinator of the bimonthly electrodiagnosis conference for residents and attendings within the Rehab Department.</p><p>Dr. Guha earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Christian Medical College in Punjab, India, in 1975. She completed a rotating internship at Brown Memorial Hospital in Punjab, India, in 1976 and her physical medicine &amp; rehabilitation residency in 1981 at Montefiore Medical Center. She was the Chief Resident in her final year.</p><p>Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Guha&rsquo;s research focuses on electromyography (EMG), neuromuscular disorders and vascular disorders. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she has given national poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Guha is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Association of Neuromuscular &amp; Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the American Board of Neuromuscular Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Association of Neuromuscular &amp; Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Guha won the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Best Teacher Award from Montefiore in 2003 and 2005.</p>
