She went on to a pediatric residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Chicago.</p>
<p>Extending from her clinical focus, Dr. Normatov&rsquo;s research interests are in inflammatory bowel disease, particularly the use of novel therapies, optimization of therapies, prevention of post-surgical disease recurrence and the effects of diet on IBD. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences.</p>

<p>Esther Davis, DO, is an attending physician at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Davis has a particular passion for the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Her clinical interests also include management of chronic constipation, celiac disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, IBS and other disorders of brain-gut axis.</p><p>In 2008, Dr. Davis received her Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience from City University of New York: Queens College. She pursued her medical education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ School of Osteopathic Medicine, earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. She began her postdoctoral training with a general pediatrics residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals-A.I DuPont Hospital for Children from 2013 to 2016, followed by a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Children's Hospital at Montefiore.</p><p>Dr. Davis&rsquo; research centers around nutrition and short gut syndrome. Past research has involved looking at the microbiome and its impact on patients with fatty liver disease, as well as quality improvement projects to improve remission rates in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Davis is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the American Gastroenterology Association.</p>

<p><strong>I trained in Gastroenterology and Nutrition then I returned to the practice of General Pediatrics and retained an&nbsp;interest in non-procedural gastroenterology. This suits my many interests.&nbsp; </strong></p>
<p><strong>Within general pediatrics, my interests include becoming an expert diagnostician, and optmizing the health outcomes&nbsp;for children who&nbsp;come for&nbsp;well child visits.&nbsp;I am also interested in mastering and teaching the physical examination of children. M</strong><strong>ore recently I have become interested in oral health, mental health in primary care, and performance improvement activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>Within my subspecialty, I am primarily interested in nutrition, growth, lipid disorders, cardiovascular health, the use of statin medications in children,&nbsp;and the use of infant formula.</strong></p>
<p><strong>I&nbsp;have been&nbsp;a panel member of the FDA's Office of Orphan Product Development and&nbsp;I also act as a reviewer for all 3 major Pediatric journals, </strong><strong>Pediatrics, JAMA pediatrics, and the Journal of Pediatrics.&nbsp; I am&nbsp;and Editorial Board member for the AAP publication, Pediatrics in Review. &nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>I teach pediatric residents and medical students several times a&nbsp;week. This is a source of deep and increasing satisfaction for me. </strong></p>
<p><strong>While being a physician is intellectually satisfying I view it fundamentally&nbsp;as a job of service to patients,&nbsp;students,&nbsp;resident trainees, and&nbsp;to my superb peers here.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Peter F. Belamarich, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Attending Physician at Montefiore&rsquo;s Comprehensive Family Care Center. His clinical focus is on the care of both well-children and the care of children with chronic medical problems.</p><p>Dr. Belamarich earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1979 from Boston University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 1983. He started his postdoctoral training at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, completing an internship and residency in 1985, and becoming Chief Resident of Pediatrics from 1985 to 1986. In 1989, he completed a three-year fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Columbia University.</p><p>Dr. Belamarich&rsquo;s current research interest focuses on optimizing those elements of the well-child visit that offer the greatest health benefits to children. He has presented his work nationally and internationally, and his work has been published in many prominent journals.</p><p>Since 2009, Dr. Belamarich has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. He is board certified, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Ambulatory Pediatric Association.</p>
