Veronica J. Azmy Meawad
<p>Veronica Meawad, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Meawad’s clinical focus is on caring for patients with allergic and immunologic disorders, including allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria and angioedema, chronic rhinosinusitis, food allergy, drug allergy and anaphylaxis.</p><p>A graduate of Tufts University, Dr. Meawad earned her Bachelor of Arts in biology-psychology in 2012, followed by her medical doctorate at the institution’s School of Medicine in 2016. She pursued her medical training at Yale New Haven Hospital, completing her internal medicine residency in 2019, and her allergy and clinical immunology fellowship in 2021.</p><p>Dr. Meawad has particular research interests in allergic dermatologic diseases, including chronic urticaria and angioedema, allergic contact dermatitis, and adult immunodeficiencies and immune dysregulation. She also has work in COVID immunology and penicillin allergy in pregnancy. Dr. Meawad has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, case reports, abstracts, and poster and oral presentations.</p><p>Dr. Meawad is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the Coptic Medical Association of North America, among others.</p>
