All newly arriving research scholars are required to check in at the OIS within ten days of arrival to the U.S. Call your departmental administrator who will schedule an appointment with the OIS. At the appointment bring with you: Your passport, I-94 card, DS-2019 Form, and the passport and forms of your dependents (if applicable).
If you will be placed on EINSTEIN payroll and you do not already have a Social Security number, you will need to apply for one.
You will
receive instructions from the Onboarding coordinator in HR on applying for the
SSN.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please do not visit the Social Security Card Center until checking in with Human Resources and providing your necessary documents to OIS.
