The Rose F. Kennedy Center is a leader in training health care professionals to build their expertise and leadership in serving persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. RFK CERC is home to one of 52 LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) programs, an interdisciplinary training program funded by the Division of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Workforce Development. Each year, more than 1,000 professionals receive long-term, intermediate-term, or short-term training through the RFK CERC LEND program.
Through its LEND Program, RFK CERC provides training to professionals in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, special care and general dentistry, medical genetics and genetic counseling, physiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, and other specialties. More than 35% of our trainees are from underrepresented groups, reflecting our commitment to building a workplace which reflects the population we serve.
