Institute for Pediatric and Lifecourse Epidemiology Research The Institute for Pediatric Health and Lifecourse Epidemiology brings together transdisciplinary expertise to foster research examining the influence of early life risk factors on cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions. In particular, the institute focuses on the early roots of health inequities and how variations in social determinants of health across the life span shapes disease risk. Institute members also investigate disparities in biological aging to understand how early and lifecourse adversities are biological embedded. The institute also represents a platform for early career investigators with interest in lifecourse epidemiology, connecting them to experts, mentors, and resources. Director: Carmen R.
