Jinshil Hyun, Ph.D.

My research focuses on identifying modifiable factors of cognitive aging and dementia. Specifically, I study the interaction between how person-specific psychosocial/behavioral factors interact with environmental/contextual factors to influence cognitive health across multiple time scales (e.g., momentary, daily, yearly). My work makes use of digital technologies (e.g., smartphone-based ambulatory cognitive assessments), passive sensing (e.g., GPS activity space, physical activity), and ecological momentary assessments (e.g., stress, social interactions) to capture people's real-world experiences embedded in environmental contexts that may impact cognitive health.
