Professional Interests

I am a Medical Physicist and Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology originally from Sweden with a M.Sc. in Medical Physics from Lund Univeristy and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Copenhagen. I came to Einstein in 2013 where I completed a 3-year post-doctoral reserach fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Wolfgang Tomé and Dr. Chandan Guha, as well as the Clinical Reserach Training Program here at Einstein in 2018. I currently hold a faculty appointment at Einstein and a clinical appointment as a senior medical physicist at the Department of Radiation Oncology at Montefiore.

My current research efforts are focused on creating data driven decision-support systems for optimizing radiation therapy decision making and risk-stratified treatment adaptation based on quantitative image analysis. The goal of these research avenus is to tailor the individual radiation therapy of patients based on risk/benefit analyses, also focusing on the optimal use of proton therapy in the treatment of cancer patients. I also have an interest in developing protocols for precise small-animal irradiation procedures using image-guided methodologies.

By combining my expertise in radiation physics and data analysis with biology-based approaches I work with the multidisciplinary team at the Institute for Onco-Physics to drive the development of new approaches in radiation-driven immunotherapy and to reduce the severe treatment complications associated with receiving high-dose radiation therapy.
