Professional Interests

Tiffany Lu, MD, MS is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. She is currently Associate Director of Addiction Services at New York City Health & Hospitals/Jacobi where she is developing the hospital's first opioid treatment program as well as clinical care and education initiatives in the midst of an evolving overdose risk and regulatory landscape.

Prior to joining Jacobi, Dr Lu was the founding Medical Director of Montefiore's Buprenorphine Treatment Network, which delivered primary care-based opioid use disorder treatment across 7 community health centers and featured a specialty Addiction Medicine "Bridge" Clinic that provided low-threshold care for people with substance use disorders. Dr. Lu was principal investigator of several clinical service delivery and education grants, including a SAMHSA grant award to expand addiction medicine education for medical students and residents at Einstein. 

Dr. Lu graduated from the University of California in San Francisco School of Medicine and the Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. She holds a Masters of Science in Clinical Research Methods from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine.

    Tiffany Lu, M.D., M.S., describes her grant that will fund the expansion of addiction medicine and training programs for medical students and residents at Einstein and Montefiore. The curriculum will focus on the diagnosis and care for people with opioid use disorder, including guidance about medications for addiction treatment, particularly buprenorphine. Dr. Lu is assistant professor of medicine at Einstein and director of the Montefiore Buprenorphine Treatment Network.
