<p>Johanna Seiden, MD, MPH, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Seiden is specifically interested in stroke in the young, as well as stroke associated with systemic disease.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biopsychology from Tufts University in 2012, Dr. Seiden earned her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health at the same institution in 2018. She then came to Montefiore Einstein to continue her medical training, completing an internal medicine internship in 2019 and her residency in neurology in 2022, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. Following this, Dr. Seiden completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at New York University, in 2023.</p><p>Dr. Seiden participates in stroke disparities research both nationally and internationally. She is also interested in improving medical education in stroke. Her work has been through invited presentations and peer-reviewed publications.</p>

<p>Oleg Otlivanchik, MD, PhD, is Co-Director, Comprehensive Stroke Center at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Otlivanchik's clinical focus is on vascular disorders of the brain.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering from Columbia University in 2008, Dr. Otlivanchik earned his Doctor of Philosophy in neuroscience at Rutgers University in 2014, followed by his Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 2016. He then came to Montefiore Einstein to continue his medical training, completing his internal medicine internship in 2017, his residency in neurology in 2020 where he was Chief Resident in his final year, and a fellowship in vascular neurology in 2021.</p><p>Dr. Otlivanchik's research interests include quality improvement, stroke education, diagnostic error, atherosclerotic disease, stroke prevention and neurorehabilitation. He has been the site primary investigator and research assistant on several research projects, and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, review articles and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Otlivanchik is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.</p>

<p>Daniel Lockett Labovitz, MD, MS, is Medical Director, Montefiore Comprehensive Center for Stroke Care and Associate Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Labovitz is a vascular neurologist with a clinical focus solely on stroke diagnosis, prevention and management. In his role at the Montefiore Comprehensive Center for Stroke Care, he has a particular focus on fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to better serve stroke patients.</p><p>In 1987, Dr. Labovitz received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Harvard University. He went on to attend Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1994. His postdoctoral training began with an internship in medicine at Saint Vincent&rsquo;s Hospital. He then attended the Neurological Institute, completing a three-year residency in neurology in 1998 and a two-year clinical and research fellowship in stroke and neuroepidemiology in 2000. In 2001, he received his Master of Science in epidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.</p><p>Dr. Labovitz&rsquo;s research focuses on intracerebral hemorrhage and stroke-related epilepsy. He has produced and published many original peer-reviewed reports and is an ad hoc reviewer on several journals, including Neurology, Stroke and the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases.</p><p>Dr. Labovitz is a member of the American Academy of Neurology as well as the Stroke Council of the American Stroke Association.</p>

<p>Kathryn F. Kirchoff-Torres, MD, is Attending Neurologist at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Kirchoff-Torres&rsquo; clinical interests are in emergency care and acute management of cerebrovascular disorders, including ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage and vascular malformations, as well as the treatment of post-stroke patients to prevent recurrent stroke.</p><p>After receiving her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from the University of Rochester in 1999, Dr. Kirchoff-Torres attended SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in 2004. She pursued her postgraduate training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completing an internship in internal medicine in 2005, a residency in neurology in 2008, a clinical fellowship in vascular neurology in 2009 and a clinical and postdoctoral fellowship in vascular neurology in 2010.</p><p>Dr. Kirchoff-Torres&rsquo; particular research interests are in hematological disorders and cerebrovascular disease, pregnancy-related cerebrovascular disease, cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome after carotid revascularization and cardioembolic stroke. Her research has been published in reviewed publications, and she has produced many abstracts and posters. She is also an ad hoc reviewer for several publications, including the <em>American Journal of Neuroradiology</em>, the <em>Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery &amp; Psychiatry</em> and the <em>Journal of Experimental Stroke &amp; Translational Medicine</em>.</p><p>Dr. Kirchoff-Torres has been listed in Castle Connolly Top Doctors for several years. She is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology.</p>

<p>Charles Esenwa is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and clinical stroke neurologist at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Esenwa attended medical school at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, and completed a residency in Neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York, where he also served as chief resident and a fellow in vascular neurology. While at Columbia, he completed formal training in neuroepidemiology under an NIH T32 grant.<br />He is dedicated to humanistic patient care and is the recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award, and the Neurological Institute&rsquo;s Daniel Sciarra patient care and humanism award. He has published on acute stroke management, stroke risk factors, secondary stroke prevention and stroke disparities, and is interested in advancing health care delivery to populations on the local, national and international levels.</p>

Biography

<p>Charles C. Esenwa, MD, MS, is a Director at Montefiore&rsquo;s Center for Comprehensive Stroke and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He specializes in vascular neurology, with a particular interest in acute stroke management and stroke prevention strategies in high-risk individuals.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Penn State University in 2006, Dr. Esenwa attended SUNY Downstate Medical Center, earning his medical degree in 2010. He pursued his postdoctoral training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, completing a medical internship in 2011 and a residency in the department of neurology in 2014. He was invited to complete an additional year, serving as chief resident for the department of neurology. From 2015 to 2017, he continued at the institution as a vascular neurology clinical and neuroepidemiology postdoctoral fellow. In 2017, he earned his Master of Science in neuroepidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.</p><p>Dr. Esenwa&rsquo;s research focus is on acute stroke management, stroke risk factors and stroke prevention. His research has been published in several reviewed journals, books and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Esenwa is the recipient of the 2010 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation and the 2014 Columbia University Department of Neurology Daniel Sciarra Award for patient care and humanism. He was selected to participate in the American Academy of Neurology&rsquo;s Emerging Leaders Program in 2018-2019. Dr. Esenwa is an active board member of the New York State Neurological Society, and he is a member of the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Neurology.</p>

He completed his vascular neurology training at Columbia University, and cognitive neurology at the University of Florida. He completed his neurology training at Montefiore Hospital/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Antoniello specializes in the clinical care of stroke patients and disorders of cognition. His research interest concentrates on the overlap between stroke and cognition.</p>
