<p>Dr. Sandhya Kumar is an Assistant Professor, Director of Homeless Healthcare Curriculum, and Assistant Program Director for Curriculum Development for the family medicine residency in the Montefiore-Einstein Department of Family &amp; Social Medicine. She created and continues to direct the family medicine homeless healthcare track and the NYC Homeless Healthcare Fellowship. Dr. Kumar spends her clinical time providing primary care at domestic violence, family, and adult shelters through the Bronx Health Collective and Care for the Homeless.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Kumar graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine (UABSOM), completed dual-training in family &amp; social medicine and preventive medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, and earned her master's degree in public health from CUNY Graduate School of Public Health &amp; Health Policy.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Dr. Khalid is an associate professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. She is board-certified in both internal medicine and addiction medicine. Dr. Khalid&rsquo;s interests lie in the judicious use of long-term opioid therapy and treatment of substance use disorders. She has developed and co-leads an innovative teaching clinic embedded in primary care where&nbsp;residents get an experiential medical education in long-term opioid therapy and patients receive guideline-adherent care. She is an eConsultant for opioid management of ambulatory patients at Montefiore. As a buprenorphine site champion, she supervises integration of treatment of opioid use within primary care. She is also a member of several working groups to improve treatment of substance use disorders in the inpatient setting at Montefiore.</p>

Biography

<p>Rachel Berman, MD, is Attending Physician at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on pediatric care.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Social Anthropology at Harvard University in 2004, Dr. Berman attended Boston University's School of Medicine and School of Public Health, earning her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health in 2010. She pursued her postdoctoral training at Boston University School of Medicine, completing an internship and residency in 2013, followed by a residency in Preventive Medicine in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Berman is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association.</p>
