The Division of Hospital Medicine has an unyielding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Below are four examples that are indicative of the culture we promote and support.

  • Patient Care: We serve our Bronx and Montefiore community that includes people from all backgrounds with social determinants of health at the forefront in the effort to advance equity.
  • Research: We support our faculty members in any research related to diversity and inclusion. Currently we have faculty members engaged in a variety of topics involving health disparities and implicit bias; we will continue to strongly embolden this type of research.
  • Education: We support all efforts by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Moses-Weiler and Wakefield Internal Medicine residency programs to increase diversity, including underrepresented minority candidates.
  • Faculty: We are proud to have a team of diverse faculty, many of whom remain at Montefiore because of the inclusive environment, care for colleagues, and passion for treating patients in our community.
