Professional Interests

I am interested in leveraging well-designed, large-scale cohorts to uncover the underlying causes of human diseases. My work integrates cutting-edge next-generation sequencing technologies with advanced bioinformatics and epidemiological approaches to unravel the natural history of diseases and pinpoint critical opportunities for intervention.

A significant focus of my research is on the human microbiome—a dynamic and rich reservoir that provides insights into the past, present, and future health of its host. By examining how the microbiome interacts with host genetics and environmental factors, I aim to identify microbial biomarkers and pathways that drive disease processes, with an eye toward translating these findings into actionable strategies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

This multidisciplinary approach allows me to deepen our understanding of disease etiology, ultimately contributing to improved health outcomes. My work represents a synthesis of molecular epidemiology, microbiome research, and data science, all geared toward advancing precision medicine and public health.
