<p>Christina J. Yang, MD, is Director, Pediatric Dysphagia Program; Associate Director, Pediatric Otolaryngology Quality Assurance and Assistant Professor at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Yang&rsquo;s clinical interests include airway and swallowing disorders in children, endoscopic and open airway reconstruction and tracheotomy.</p><p>A graduate of Northwestern University, Dr. Yang received her Bachelor of Arts in 2004, and continued at the institution&rsquo;s Feinberg School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2008. She began her postdoctoral education at Tulane University School of Medicine, completing her residency in otolaryngology&ndash;head and neck surgery in 2013. She then pursued a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children&rsquo;s Hospital Medical Center, completing it in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Yang&rsquo;s research focuses on the application of healthcare simulation to medical education, patient safety, quality improvement and implementation science. <p>Dr. Ow is a Head and Neck Surgeon and Translational Researcher at Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine.&nbsp; He specializes in the surgical treatment of&nbsp;tumors in the head and neck region, including&nbsp;those that occur in the mouth, throat, larynx, neck,&nbsp;sinuses, salivary glands, and thyroid gland.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also specializes in the&nbsp;surgical treatment&nbsp;of skin cancers&nbsp;that occur on&nbsp;the scalp, face, and neck.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Ow&rsquo;s research is focused on the translation of genetic and molecular determinants in&nbsp;head and neck squamous cell cancer&nbsp;into clinically useful biomarkers and therapeutic targets.&nbsp; Specifically, Dr. Ow is studying factors that contribute to radiation and chemotherapy resistance in this disease, as well as genomic alterations acquired during the process of locoregional recurrence, lymph node spread, and distant metastasis.&nbsp; As a translational scientist, Dr. Ow is involved in active projects&nbsp;studying&nbsp; laboratory models of HNSCC, research utilizing patient's tumors, as well as clinical research - both retrospective studies and prospective clinical trials.&nbsp; The ultimate goal of this work is to identify novel ways to improve the survival and functional outcomes among patients with HNSCC.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Thomas J. Ow, MD, is Associate Professor, Otorhinolaryngology&ndash;Head and Neck Surgery and Pathology at Montefiore Einstein. He is also Director, Clinical and Translational Research for the ORL-HNS department and Vice Chair, Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee for the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center. His clinical focus is on the surgical treatment of tumors in the head and neck region, including those that occur in the mouth, throat, larynx, sinuses, salivary glands and thyroid gland. He also specializes in the surgical treatment of skin cancers that occur on the scalp, face and neck.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology in 2000 at Lawrence University, Dr. Ow earned his Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in 2004. He completed a general surgery internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2005, and subsequently completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Montefiore Einstein in 2009. He then completed a research and clinical fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at the University of Texas from 2009 to 2012. During this time he obtained a Master of Science in biomedical sciences at the University of Texas, Health Science Center. As a faculty member at Montefiore Einstein since 2012, Dr. Ow was both a Paul Calabresi K12 scholar in Oncology Research, and a graduate of the National Institute of Health Clinical and Translational Science Award (NIH-CTSA) sponsored Clinical Research Training Program.</p><p>Dr. Ow is both an active head and neck surgical oncologist, and translational investigator. His research is focused on the translation of genetic and molecular determinants in head and neck squamous cell cancer into clinically useful biomarkers and therapeutic targets. His clinical focus is on the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, diseases of the salivary glands and thyroid/parathyroid disease, with a particular interest in transoral robotic surgery and minimally invasive endocrine surgery.</p><p>Dr. Mehta received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of California Berkeley in 2001. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of California Irvine. Dr. Mehta completed an internship in general surgery at St. Vincent&rsquo;s Catholic Medical Center in 2007. He then completed a residency in otolaryngology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 2012, he completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also attended Johns Hopkins University where he received his Master of Public Health in 2015.</p><p>Currently, Dr. Mehta is interested in researching the clinical outcomes in head and neck cancer patients, and patients with thyroid conditions, cost-effectiveness, quality of care and systems improvements. He also serves as the Quality Improvement Coordinator for the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Committee and received a green belt in Lean Six Sigma training in 2022. Biography

<p>Mona Gangar, MD, MS, is Director. Medical Students; Co-director, Pediatric thyroid program; Faculty Advisor, ENT interest group and Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology&ndash;Head &amp; Neck Surgery at Montefiore-Einstein. Her clinical interests are in all aspects of pediatric otorhinolaryngology with a focus on pediatric head and neck pathology, and special interests in pediatric thyroid disease, vascular anomalies, resident/medical student education and global health.</p><p>In 1999, Dr. Gangar received her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from the University of California Los Angeles. She attended MCP Hahnemann University from 2000 to 2002, earning her Master of Science in medical science. She then attended New York Medical College to pursue her Doctor of Medicine degree, earning it in 2006. Her postdoctoral training included an otorhinolaryngology&ndash;head and neck surgery residency at Einstein from 2006 to 2011, followed by a yearlong fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Rady&rsquo;s Children&rsquo;s Hospital, which she completed in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Gangar&rsquo;s research focuses on all aspects of pediatric otorhinolaryngology. She has shared her work through publication in journals and podium and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Gangar is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology&ndash;Head and Neck Surgery and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.</p>
