Join Us for a Celebration of Pi Day and
Albert Einstein's Birthday

Friday, March 14 is an important day at Einstein. While Pi Day is commemorated around the country, the date holds special significance to us because it is also our namesake’s birthday and Einstein’s Giving Day.

To celebrate what would have been Albert Einstein’s 146th birthday, we’ve lined up a range of activities to honor “Uncle Albert,” celebrate our institution, and, of course, enjoy pi(e).

Pi Day Events (Friday, March 14)

Lunch & Pi Recitation Contest

12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Main Street, Forchheimer Dining Hall

A complimentary light lunch (while supplies last) and pie for all Einstein students, faculty, postdocs, and staff.
Our annual Pi Recitation Contest (1 p.m.). Cash prizes totaling $500 for first, second, and third place.

Annual Pi(e) Day Bake-Off

2:30 p.m., judging begins at 2:45 p.m., Main Street, Forchheimer Dining Hall

Enter your best pie, for the chance to win prizes and bragging rights. Registration required in advance.

Fun All Month

Find Uncle Albert at the Library

March 10 – March 14

Each day during the week of Pi Day, visit the D. Samuel Gottesman Library—online or in person—to find a hidden Uncle Albert figure. Locate one and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a prize. For more details and to receive the daily clue, click the button below.

Easy-as-Pie Giving

Pi Day is also Einstein’s Giving Day. It’s a time for our community to come together and raise funds to support our students, faculty, and programs. To encourage giving, Einstein Trustee Buzzy Geduld will match your gift dollar for dollar (up to $70,000) doubling the impact of your support! Now more than ever, it’s important to support each other and all we do here at Einstein. No gift is too small to make an impact.
