Michael L. Yee
<p>Michael Lenn Yee, MD, is Director, Psycho-Oncology and Associate Clerkship Director, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is also Assistant Clinical Professor, Psychiatry at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Yee specializes in Psycho-oncology, consult-liaison psychiatry, psychiatric issues in palliative care, general adult psychiatry, medical student education in psychiatry, psychotherapy in patients with medical illness and mindfulness-based psychotherapies.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Rochester in 2011, Dr. Yee earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Chicago in 2015. He then completed his adult psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2019, followed by a consult-liaison psychiatry fellowship at New York University in 2020.</p><p>Dr. Yee’s research focuses on quality improvement and analysis of integrated care models. He is passionate about medical student education in psychiatry with his current focus on teaching and administration for clinical rotations. He has shared his work through several peer-reviewed publications and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Yee is board certified in Consult-Liaison Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the Association for Academic Psychiatry (AAP), the Academy for Consult Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP) and the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS).</p>
Daniel J. Helman
<p>Daniel J. Helman , MD, is an attending psychiatrist at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical expertise centers on consultation-liaison psychiatry focused on people with medical illnesses. His areas of particular interest are oncology and transplantation.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Amherst College in 2009, Dr. Helman completed a Fundamentals of Biostatistics course at Harvard Extension School in 2011. Following this, he completed a Combined Accelerated Program in Psychiatry (CAPP) at the University of Maryland in 2013, followed by his Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 2015. Dr. Helman then completed his psychiatry and human behavior residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2019, where he was Chief Resident for Outpatient Services in his final year. He remained at this institution to complete a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry in 2020.</p><p>Dr. Helman is board certified in Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.</p>

<p>Audrey Walker M.D. is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with an interest in pediatric psychosomatic medicine, pediatric integrated behavioral care and medical student education in psychiatry. Dr Walker is the division chief and program director in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr Walker is also director of medical student education in psychiatry at Einstein/Montefiore.Dr Walker triple boarded in neurology and psychiatry , child and adolescent psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine and is a fellow in the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine. Dr Walker completed her psychiatric residency and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical Center after receiving her M.D.degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her B.A. with honors from Harvard University. Dr Walker has published and presented at national meetings in the areas of pediatric psychosomatic medicine and medical student education in psychiatry.</p>

Alessandra Scalmati
<p>Dr. Alessandra Scalmati is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, where she is Associate Director of the Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry, and Associate Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. She is board certified in General and Geriatric Psychiatry and in Psychosomatic Medicine. </p>

<p>Dr Scalmati received an MD, PhD from the University of Modena, Italy and completed her training in general and geriatric psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. Dr Scalmati's areas of interests include: medical educatio, the provision of trauma informed care in social service agencies and the medical care system, the long term effects of trauma, the improvement in delivery of mental health services to trauma survivors, elder mistreatment, intervention to address staff burnout, and the development of training models to improve delivery of care. Dr Scalmati has worked to develop a curriculum to integrate the knowledge of the field of trauma studies and the field of geriatrics, and to adapt the concept of trauma informed care to geriatrics. She is committed to establish models of collaborative care between academic institutions and community agencies; and to enhance the collaboration between providers of geriatric medicine and mental health professionals. She has been the recipient of grants from UJA Federation, and the Butler Foundation.</p>

</p><p>After receiving her Doctor of Medicine from University of Modena in Italy in 1987, Dr. Scalmati started her postdoctoral training with a yearlong internship in medicine at Clinica Medica in Modena, Italy. In 1988, she returned to University of Modena to pursue her Doctor of Philosophy in cancer pathology, earning the degree in 1992. She then came to the United States to continue her postdoctoral training with a residency in general psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1992 to 1997, acting as Senior Chief Resident in her final year. She followed this with a yearlong fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Einstein, completing it in 1998.
</p><p>Dr. Scalmati’s research interests focus on trauma-informed care principles and implementation. She has an added focus on the development of curricula for education of different constituencies from medical students to staff of community agencies in the delivery of trauma-informed care. Since 2006, she has been listed as one of The Best Doctors in America.

<p>María Fernanda Gómez, M.D. is Associate Director of Psychosomatic Medicine, Associate Director of Residency Training, and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.</p>
<p>Dr. Gómez received her medical degree from the University of Salamanca, Spain and completed her residency at New York Medical College/Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. She was awarded the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology fellowship and the Linda Pollin Foundation Fellowship in Medical Crisis Counseling during her fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is the recipient of the American Psychiatric Association Nancy C. A. Roske, M.D. Certificate of Excellence in Medical Student Education. She has successfully completed multiple subspecialty board certifications, including Psychosomatic Medicine, Geriatric, Addiction, and Forensic psychiatry and is one of the very few psychiatrists to be certified in Pain Medicine.</p>
