<p>Oscar H. Purugganan, MD, MPH, is an attending physician at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Purugganan&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the assessment and management of developmental problems in infants and young children and those with chronic health conditions that put them at risk for developmental problems.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of the Philippines in Quezon City, Philippines, in 1986, Dr. Purugganan earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines, in 1991. He then moved to the United States to continue his medical training, completing his pediatric internship and residency at New York University Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital in 1995, his Master of Public Health from Columbia University School of Public Health in 1998, and a fellowship in behavioral pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein in 1998. <p>Elissa G. Yozawitz, MD, is Director of Neonatal Neurology at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Yozawitz focuses on the neurological management of children, from the neonatal period through adolescence, particularly those with difficult-to-treat seizures. She also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, stroke and seizures in the newborn. Dr. Yozawitz&rsquo;s expertise includes electroencephalography (EEG) and state-of-the-art treatments.</p><p>After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and in health and society from the University of Rochester in 2001, Dr. Yozawitz earned a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 2005. She completed a pediatric residency at Schneider Children&rsquo;s Hospital in 2007, followed by a residency in pediatric neurology at Montefiore Einstein in 2010. <p>Jacqueline Weingarten-Arams, MD, is an attending physician and Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Weingarten-Arams&rsquo; pediatric critical care expertise focuses on cardiac critical care, acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, nutrition in critical illness and energy expenditure, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (quality CPR) and extracorporeal life support (ECMO).</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University in 1982, Dr. Weingarten-Arams earned her Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 1986. She then completed her pediatric residency at Columbia University in 1990, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. <p>Dr. Ushay is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. </p><p>After obtaining a PhD in Chemistry from Columbia University, Dr. Ushay received his MD from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and completed a Pediatrics residency in the Montefiore-Jacobi-Einstein program. After serving as Chief Resident and a Fellow in Pediatric Pulmonology at Montefiore, he completed a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in 1993. He was a faculty member at NewYork-Presbyterian and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospitals from 1993 to 2005, and he served as Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program Director and Medical Director of the Pediatric Observation Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. </p><p>In 2005 Dr. Ushay became Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Unit in The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Ushay is involved in increasing pediatric ICU surge capacity through the New York City Pediatric Disaster Coalition, serving on its Central Leadership Council and teaching the Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support Course. In 2006, she received her Doctor of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. In 2009, Dr. Talib completed a residency in pediatrics at New York Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children&rsquo;s Health &ndash; Weill Cornell Medical Center. She became Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center that same year. Dr. Talib went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at CHAM in 2013.</p><p>Dr. Talib has been studying the effects of Vitamin D deficiency in the adolescent age group since 2012. In 2013, she published a study on influences of partner and relationship factors in HIV testing in Bronx youth. Through her work on the CHAM HIV Testing Task Force, she is currently conducting a quality improvement intervention to increase HIV testing in hospitalized adolescents. Her work has been published numerous times in peer reviewed journals, review articles, and books and has been presented at national meetings.</p><p>In 2014, Dr. Talib won Best Platform Presentation for her work, &ldquo;Randomized Clinical Trial of Two High-dose vs. Low-dose Treatment Regimens for Vitamin D Deficiency in Minority Adolescents Living in a Northeast City&rdquo; at Pediatric Research Day at CHAM.</p><p>Dr. Talib is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section in Adolescent Health.</p>
