<p>Elissa G. Yozawitz, MD, is Director of Neonatal Neurology at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Yozawitz focuses on the neurological management of children, from the neonatal period through adolescence, particularly those with difficult-to-treat seizures. She also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, stroke and seizures in the newborn. Dr. Yozawitz&rsquo;s expertise includes electroencephalography (EEG) and state-of-the-art treatments.</p><p>After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and in health and society from the University of Rochester in 2001, Dr. Yozawitz earned a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 2005. She completed a pediatric residency at Schneider Children&rsquo;s Hospital in 2007, followed by a residency in pediatric neurology at Montefiore Einstein in 2010. Dr. Yozawitz remained at Montefiore Einstein to complete a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology in 2011.</p><p>Dr. Yozawitz&rsquo;s research focuses on improving the identification and efficacy of treating early-life epilepsies, including infantile spasms. Her research also explores EEG changes during anesthesia. Dr. Yozawitz participated in multicenter studies, functioned as site principal investigator and co-investigator for multiple research projects, presented her research findings at national and international scientific meetings, published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and authored several book chapters. She served as a reviewer for medical journals including <em>Epilepsia, Epileptic Disorders, Neurology</em> and the <em>New England Journal of Medicine</em>, among others. For several years, Dr. Yozawitz participated in the work of international committees tasked to revise nosology and treatment guidelines for neonatal and childhood epilepsy.</p><p>Dr. Yozawitz is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Epilepsy and Neurology, with special certification in Child Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society and the Child Neurology Society. <p>Lisa Shulman, M.D., is a leading developmental pediatrician who specializes in diagnosing and treating children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental and learning disabilities.</p>
<p>Dr. Shulman serves as the director of Infant Toddler Services at Montefiore&rsquo;s Children&rsquo;s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC), which provides family-based diagnostic assessment and treatment services for young children who have or are suspected of having developmental delays. <p>Lisa Heidi Shulman, MD, is Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, her clinical focus has been on the early identification and long-term management of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as improving access to care for our community, identification and management of early motor delays and toe walking gait. </p><p>In 1983, Dr. Shulman received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics/Psychology at Brown University. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 1987. Dr. Shulman began her postgraduate training in 1987 with a 3-year internship and residency in Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In 1992, she completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Neurodevelopment at the Rose F. Kennedy Center, Children&rsquo;s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.</p><p>Aligning with her clinical interests, her research also focuses on other aspects of ASD, including early diagnosis, developmental outcomes in children with an early diagnosis, comorbid medical and developmental problems, parental stress and complementary and alternative medicine usage in ASD. Dr. Shulman is involved in numerous projects involving ASD, including one that began in 2019 that aims to identify the causes of ASD by carrying out genetic testing, phenotyping, and demographic profiles on the parents of children with ASD. <p>Mark Shlomovich, MD, is Director, Extracorporeal Liver Support and Director, Pediatric Critical Care Transport at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Shlomovich&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the care of critically ill children with abdominal organ failure, transplantation and post-surgical care. <p class="MsoNormal">Theresa Serra, MD, joined the CHAM hospitalist division in 2014 after working as a pediatric hospitalist at New York Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. Her interests include clinical research and medical education. She has conducted an IRB approved retrospective chart review examining readmission rates in pediatric patients diagnosed with osteomyelitis. Dr. Serra is currently developing a medical Spanish curriculum for faculty members in order to improve communication between patients, families and providers. Along with Courtney McNamara, MD, Dr. Serra is a co-leader of a multidisciplinary committee dedicated to standardizing and improving quality of care for patients hospitalized with the diagnosis of failure to thrive. Dr. Serra is also working on an initiative to identify vaccine delinquency in the inpatient setting through the use of SMART reports.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Serra is also collaborating with Lindsey Douglas, MD, MSCR, in an IRB approved quality improvement (QI) project to improve transition-of-care communication between hospitalists and primary care providers and to facilitate the establishment of medical homes. Dr. Serra is also a member of a subcommittee that leads monthly journal clubs/case conferences for pediatric hospitalists.</p>

<p>Alessandra Scalmati, MD, PhD, is Associate Director, Geriatric Psychiatry, Associate Director, Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry, and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Scalmati&rsquo;s clinical focus is on geriatric psychiatry, general psychiatry with special focus on medically complex patients, and the clinical management of long-term effects of psychological trauma in older adults.
</p><p>After receiving her Doctor of Medicine from University of Modena in Italy in 1987, Dr. Scalmati started her postdoctoral training with a yearlong internship in medicine at Clinica Medica in Modena, Italy. In 1988, she returned to University of Modena to pursue her Doctor of Philosophy in cancer pathology, earning the degree in 1992. She then came to the United States to continue her postdoctoral training with a residency in general psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1992 to 1997, acting as Senior Chief Resident in her final year. She followed this with a yearlong fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Einstein, completing it in 1998.

<p>Maris D. Rosenberg, MD, is an attending physician at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Clinical Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. <p>Erin Rivelis, PhD, is an attending psychologist at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Rivelis&rsquo;s clinical focus centers on the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Michigan in 2002, Dr. Rivelis earned her Master of Education in school psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University in 2006. She remained at Columbia University and completed her Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in applied educational psychology in 2008. <p>Dr. Keltz received his BS with honors in Biology, magna cum laude, and his MD in the accelerated 6 year Biomedical Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College of Union University. He was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical school honor society, in the autumn of his junior year in medical school.</p><p>Dr. Keltz did an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mt Sinai Hospital and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Montefiore Medical Center. He then joined the late Drs. Julian Frieden, Jerome Cooper, and. Bernard Gitler in cardiology practice in New Rochelle. The practice became Westchester Heart Specialists and included Dr. Michael Johnson and Dr. Donald Miller. He cared for patients at New Rochelle Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center, and Columbia University Medical Center. In 2012 Westchester Heart Specialists became a part of Montefiore Medical Center.</p><p>Dr. Keltz was awarded the the Elmer Schacht Award for Microbiology in medical school and the Montefiore Medical Center House Staff Award for Excellence in Teaching and Patient Care in 1987.</p><p>Dr. Keltz is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Adult Echocardiography.</p><p>Dr. Keltz served on the Board of Directors, American Heart Association, Westchester-Putnam Region from 1995-2007 and as president from 2000-2006.</p><p>Dr. Keltz is currently the President of the Medical Board of Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.</p>
