Call for Applications Core Use Einstein’s Nathan Shock Center in the Basic Biology of Aging 2022 Pilot & Feasibility Project Awards for Core Use The Einstein Nathan Shock Center (E-NSC) is soliciting applications to support projects on the Biology of Aging that will generate preliminary data for R01-type applications that are founded on geroscience. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be accepted until the funds are exhausted. The awards will be provided in the form of vouchers to support only the use of designated services offered in the cores below. The funds will be directed to those cores and no funding for personnel, supplies or other expenses will be provided to the applicants directly. Please review the Center webpage for specific services offered under each core. The awards are for one year and will pay directly to the cores for specific services Applications from institutions outside of Einstein are strongly encouraged Priority will be given to early-stage investigators and investigators who are new to the field of Aging Applicants must consult with the core director prior to application submission. Proteostasis of Aging Core (AM Cuervo). Provides investigators with tools, assays, and expertise for the analysis of changes in autophagic pathways that occur with age and in age-related diseases Healthspan & Chronobiosis of Aging Core (D Huffman). Provides sophisticated integrative studies for determination of healthy aging physiology. Also provides resources for chronobiosis Human Multi-omics of Aging Core (J Vijg). Services for designing and analyzing genomic experiments, for example single cell studies, and mining of omics data in human cohorts with longevity to address important problems in biology of aging research Due Date Application due date: Rolling acceptance of applications until the allocated funds are exhausted Applications must include: Hypothesis and specific aims of the project (1 page) A one paragraph statement on how this research will impact your future directions in aging research Current NIH Biosketch, including personal statement and other support Specify services requested and provide justification of why those services are required to advance the project. Applicant must consult with the core director(s) listed above prior to application submission Budget estimation. E-NSC cores list prices for services can be found on the center webpageAt the end of the project period and annually thereafter for 3 years, the investigator must submit a progress report that includes a list of publications or funded projects that resulted from this award.
