X-Ray Crystallography

The X-Ray Crystallography Facility provides the expertise needed to obtain high-resolution structures by X-ray diffraction, including crystallization, primary phasing, structure refinement and data interpretation. To rapidly accomplish these tasks, the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art robotics for screening sub-microliter volumes of protein and RT-PCR based stability tests to enhance crystallization efforts. All data are collected using synchrotron radiation using our rapid and sustained access to beamlines at Brookhaven National Labs. These structural technologies are complemented by cryo-electron microscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance, a wide range of vibrational spectroscopies, novel macromolecular footprinting approaches and computational biology. A full list of services is available on the facility website.
