<p>Javier Ariel Laurini, MD, is Associate Professor, Pathology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Laurini's clinical focus is on the study of tissue to diagnose inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the breast, gynecologic tract and bone and soft tissues.</p>

<p>After earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1995 from the University Of Salvador, School Of Medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Laurini completed a residency in anatomic pathology in 1999 at the Center of Medical Education and Clinical Investigations (CEMIC) in Buenos Aires. Following this, he completed a three-month internship in hematopathology service at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Laurini became Administrative Chief Resident in the department of pathology at CEMIC for one year before completing a surgical pathology fellowship at British Hospital in Buenos Aires in 2002. He then became a visiting clinician in the Department of Pathology, Mayo Clinic in Rochester before undergoing a combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, which he completed in 2010. Dr. Laurini then finished a fellowship in surgical pathology at the Mayo Clinic in 2011 before completing another fellowship in hematopathology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2012.</p>

<p>Dr. Laurini's research focus follows his clinical interests in breast and gynecologic pathology. His work has been published in numerous original communications and peer-reviewed journals, articles and abstracts.</p>

<p>Dr. Laurini is board certified in Hematology and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board Of Pathology. He is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. He is also part of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association. Dr. Laurini has won multiple faculty teaching awards from the University of South Alabama and Wake Forest School of Medicine. In 2022 he won the Attending Teaching Award from Einstein.</p>

She created and continues to direct the family medicine homeless healthcare track and the NYC Homeless Healthcare Fellowship. Biography

<p>Elizabeth Gurney, MD, MPH, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and Women&rsquo;s Health at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus centers on complex contraception, long-acting reversible contraception and the management of unintended and abnormal pregnancy.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry and biology from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Gurney earned her Doctor of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in family planning at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also earned her Master of Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania.</p><p>Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Gurney&rsquo;s research centers on immediate postpartum long-acting reversible contraception and improving patients&rsquo; experiences during office-based family planning procedures. She is also interested in adverse childhood experiences and pain during office procedures, doula support and abortion stigma. Her work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, articles and abstracts, and she has given national oral presentations.</p><p>Dr. Gurney is doubly board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in general Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Complex Family Planning. She is a fellow of Bellevue Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a junior fellow of the Society of Family Planning and a member of the National Abortion Federation. In 2017, Dr. Gurney won the Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education from the Council for Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. In 2018 she served as faculty mentor for an award-winning resident QI project, winning Best Abstract from the ACOG District III Junior Fellow Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.</p>

<p>Monica Foreman-Hyacinthe, MD, is Medical Site Director, Scarsdale Women's Center and Assistant Professor, Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus centers on general obstetrics and gynecology.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in psychobiology from Yale University in 1984, Dr. Foreman-Hyacinthe earned her Doctor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1988. She then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1992.</p><p>Dr. Foreman-Hyacinthe is a Diplomate of The American Board of Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the National Medical Association. In 2022, Dr. Foreman-Hyacinthe was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society for excellence in the teaching of medical students. She has served as a panelist for health topics on breast cancer, cervical cancer, fibroids, menopause and preventive healthcare.</p>
