<p>Garrison Pease, MD, is an attending surgical pathologist and Assistant Professor, Pathology at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus centers on genitourinary and urologic pathology, with a focus on one-on-one teaching at the scope with residents and medical students. He is also focused on quality assurance and quality improvement with an emphasis on lab efficiency and patient-centered turn-around time.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Saint John's University (Collegeville, MN) in 2009, Dr. Pease earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2013. He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of University of Chicago - NorthShore in 2017, where he was Chief Resident in his final two years. Following this, Dr. Pease completed a general surgical pathology fellowship at Washington University &ndash; St. Louis in 2018, followed by a genitourinary pathology fellowship at the University of Washington in 2019.</p><p>Dr. Pease&rsquo;s research is focused on genitourinary and urologic pathology and quality assurance and improvement. He has worked on the College of American Pathologists (CAP) self and peer-based laboratory inspections. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and shared through abstracts and poster presentations nationally and internationally.</p><p>Dr. Pease is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology and is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. In 2021, Dr. Pease won the Department of Pathology Outstanding Teaching Award from Montefiore Einstein's Pathology Residency program.</p>

Dr. Klar&rsquo;s clinical expertise includes general dermatological procedures, as well as more complex procedures such as the treatment of psoriasis and inflammatory dermatoses with phototherapy, topical therapy and biologic therapy. Dr. Klar also treats cancers of the skin including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.<span>&nbsp; </span>She has advanced training and extensive experience treating adults and children for general dermatological conditions, including rashes, acne, rosacea and eczema. <p>Julie Kaplan, MD is an attending physician, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and Women's Health and Medical Student OBGYN Associate Clerkship Director at Montefiore Einstein. She has a special interest in prenatal care, contraception and colposcopy.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in 2008 from Cornell University, Dr. Kaplan earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2012 at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. She then came to Montefiore Einstein to complete an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2016.</p><p>Her research interests include simulation model research and researching the long-term outcome of estrogenized endometrium in postmenopausal women. Her work has been published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.</p><p>Dr. Kaplan is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.</p>

<p>Dr. Caroline Halverstam is an associate professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Dermatology at Jacobi Medical Center. She did her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and completed an internship at New York University. She did residency in dermatology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York, where she served as Chief resident during her final year.</p>
<p>She is a board-certified dermatologist and member of the American Academy of Dermatology, New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and New York Academy of Medicine, Dermatology division. She serves on the editorial board of<em>&nbsp;</em>the&nbsp;<em>Journal of American Academy of Dermatology Case Reports.&nbsp;</em></p>
<p>Dr. Halverstam focuses her career on complex medical dermatology and resident and student education. She is highly competent in treating adults and children for general dermatological conditions, including rashes, acne, rosacea and eczema as well as conducting skin cancer screenings. Dr. Halverstam is also well trained in the treatment of complex dermatological diseases including difficult cases of psoriasis, blistering diseases and auto-immune diseases.&nbsp;</p>

Biography

<p>Caroline Halverstam, MD, FAAD, is an attending dermatologist and Associate Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Halverstam&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of general and complex medical dermatology including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, hair loss, vitiligo, skin cancer and autoimmune conditions.</p><p>In 2022, Dr. Halverstam received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. She then pursued her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2007. She began her postgraduate training with an internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center, followed by a dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, which she completed in 2011, taking on the role of Chief Resident in her final year.</p><p>Dr. Halverstam has contributed to prominent dermatologic journals on the subjects of dermatologic education, complex medical dermatology and cutaneous manifestations of COVID-19. She has shared her work through book chapters and numerous invited presentations, and serves on the editorial board for the <em>Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology: Case Reports</em>.</p><p>Dr. Halverstam is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York and the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.</p>
