<p>Elissa G. Yozawitz, MD, is Director of Neonatal Neurology at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Yozawitz focuses on the neurological management of children, from the neonatal period through adolescence, particularly those with difficult-to-treat seizures. She also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, stroke and seizures in the newborn. Dr. Yozawitz&rsquo;s expertise includes electroencephalography (EEG) and state-of-the-art treatments.</p><p>After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and in health and society from the University of Rochester in 2001, Dr. Yozawitz earned a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 2005. She completed a pediatric residency at Schneider Children&rsquo;s Hospital in 2007, followed by a residency in pediatric neurology at Montefiore Einstein in 2010. Dr. Yozawitz remained at Montefiore Einstein to complete a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology in 2011.</p><p>Dr. Yozawitz&rsquo;s research focuses on improving the identification and efficacy of treating early-life epilepsies, including infantile spasms. Her research also explores EEG changes during anesthesia. Dr. Yozawitz participated in multicenter studies, functioned as site principal investigator and co-investigator for multiple research projects, presented her research findings at national and international scientific meetings, published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and authored several book chapters. She served as a reviewer for medical journals including <em>Epilepsia, Epileptic Disorders, Neurology</em> and the <em>New England Journal of Medicine</em>, among others. For several years, Dr. Yozawitz participated in the work of international committees tasked to revise nosology and treatment guidelines for neonatal and childhood epilepsy.</p><p>Dr. Yozawitz is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Epilepsy and Neurology, with special certification in Child Neurology. Dr. Wright&rsquo;s clinical interests include HIV during pregnancy, infectious diseases, sexually transmitted infections, global women&rsquo;s health and maternal fetal medicine.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology from Emory University, Dr. Wright went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine. His post graduate training began at the University of California, Irvine, where he completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Several years later, Dr. Wright pursued a three-year fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Montefiore-Einstein. <p>Diana S Wolfe, MD MPH is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and Women&rsquo;s Health, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine. &nbsp;She is Associate Program Director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program. &nbsp;</p>
<p>She established the MFM Cardiology Joint Program in 2015&nbsp;in response to the rising contribution of cardiovascular conditions to pregnancy related morbidity and mortality.&nbsp;&nbsp;The aim was to establish a multidisciplinary program to optimize the care of high-risk pregnant patients with known or suspected cardiac disease, as there is a real potential for communication gaps when patients are seen separately in contrast with parallel visits by different specialists.&nbsp;&nbsp;Patients are at all stages of their reproductive lives including preconception, pregnancy and postpartum.&nbsp;&nbsp;She works closely with the department of Cardiology both in the outpatient and inpatient setting to establish delivery plans and continued care postpartum.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In addition,&nbsp;Dr. Wolfe has worked in global health,&nbsp;her most recent work in Africa was in Butare (Huye), Rwanda, serving as MFM subspecialist in the Human Resources for Health (HRH) program, directed by the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Rwanda.&nbsp; Dr. Wolfe was the first MFM subspecialist from Einstein to commence HRH at CHUB, Butare, Rwanda.&nbsp;&nbsp;Her interest began&nbsp;locally when she volunteered as a bilingual pregnancy counselor in Escondido, California.&nbsp; She then started working in Africa in 1998 where she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa.&nbsp; She was part of the national Maternal and Child Health Program.&nbsp; She worked as health educator in a remote village, Karangasso, located in the Sikasso region, with a birth assistant to develop health education for 7 local villages on subjects such as infant nutrition, prenatal care, family planning, and developing community health committees for each village. &nbsp;She also initiated a birth assistant training program with the head nurse of the nearest local health center that included training subjects such as management of postpartum hemorrhage, contraception, and first steps in obstetric emergencies.&nbsp;&nbsp;During medical school, Dr. Wolfe worked on &ldquo;the Assessment of the Knowledge of Women&rsquo;s Health,&rdquo; a project that initiated with the Bedoin community of Israel.&nbsp; She implemented the same pre and post-training test to the 7 Malian villages where she served in the Peace Corps as well as to several villages in the Peruvian Amazon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jacqueline Weingarten-Arams, MD, is an attending physician and Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Weingarten-Arams&rsquo; pediatric critical care expertise focuses on cardiac critical care, acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, nutrition in critical illness and energy expenditure, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (quality CPR) and extracorporeal life support (ECMO).</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University in 1982, Dr. Weingarten-Arams earned her Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 1986. She then completed her pediatric residency at Columbia University in 1990, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. Following this, Dr. Weingarten-Arams completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at New York Hospital Cornell University Medical College in 1996.</p><p>Dr. Weingarten-Arams research focus includes the use of deliberate simulated practice in improving outcomes in pediatric critical illness, pediatric resuscitation and pediatric airway management. <p>Dr. Ushay is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. </p><p>After obtaining a PhD in Chemistry from Columbia University, Dr. Ushay received his MD from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and completed a Pediatrics residency in the Montefiore-Jacobi-Einstein program. After serving as Chief Resident and a Fellow in Pediatric Pulmonology at Montefiore, he completed a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in 1993. He was a faculty member at NewYork-Presbyterian and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospitals from 1993 to 2005, and he served as Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program Director and Medical Director of the Pediatric Observation Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. </p><p>In 2005 Dr. Ushay became Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Unit in The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Biography

<p>Hina J. Talib, MD, is Director of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program and an Attending Physician in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Talib is also an Associate&nbsp;Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is adolescent health, pediatrics and adolescent gynecology, contraception, mental health, care of children in foster care and care of hospitalized adolescents. She joined the Montefiore team in 2013.</p><p>Dr. Talib received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience in 2001 from Brown University. In 2006, she received her Doctor of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. In 2009, Dr. Talib completed a residency in pediatrics at New York Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children&rsquo;s Health &ndash; Weill Cornell Medical Center. She became Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center that same year. Dr. Talib went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at CHAM in 2013.</p><p>Dr. Talib has been studying the effects of Vitamin D deficiency in the adolescent age group since 2012. Biography

<p>Mark Shlomovich, MD, is Director, Extracorporeal Liver Support and Director, Pediatric Critical Care Transport at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Shlomovich&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the care of critically ill children with abdominal organ failure, transplantation and post-surgical care. He also focuses on the safe transportation of critically ill children.</p><p>In 2006, Dr. Shlomovich earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Towson University. He then attended University of Connecticut School of Medicine earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2010. His postgraduate training began at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a four-year pediatric residency, where he was Chief Pediatric Resident in his final year. He then came to Children's Hospital at Montefiore for a pediatric critical care fellowship, which he completed in 2017.</p><p>Dr. Shlomovich&rsquo;s research interests are in the use of artificial liver support technology, as well as the care of children in liver failure before and after transplantation. In addition, he investigates the safety and efficiency of the transportation of critically ill children. He has shared his research through peer-reviewed journals and abstracts, and is an ad hoc reviewer for BMC Nephrology.</p><p>Dr. Shlomovich is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.</p>

Biography

<p>Ariel L Shiloh, MD, is Director, Critical Care Consult Services, Professor, Medicine and Associate Professor, Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shiloh&rsquo;s clinical interests include the early detection and treatment of critical illness, point-of-care ultrasonography for the evaluation of critical illness and advanced airway management.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, Dr. Shiloh attended the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University, Be&rsquo;er Sheva, Israel, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2005. He came to Montefiore for his postdoctoral training, completing his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2008, followed by his fellowship in critical care medicine in 2010.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh's research includes the clinical use of point-of-care ultrasonography in critical illness, improvement of airway management, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations, books, abstracts and poster presentations at national conferences. He has also been a reviewer for several journals including <em>Chest</em>, the <em>American Journal of Critical Care</em> and the <em>European Journal of Anesthesiology</em>.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care and Hospice &amp; Palliative Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Shiloh has been recognized by the American College of Chest Physicians as a Distinguished CHEST Educator, among the top 5% of CHEST&rsquo;s international faculty recognized for long-term contributions to the design and delivery of CHEST education</p>
