- The NIH Institutional Training Grants (T series) are awards are made to institutions to support groups of pre- and/or postdoctoral fellows, including trainees in basic, clinical, and behavioral research.
- The most common T grants are the T32- National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Research Training Grant and T35- Short-Term Institutional Research Training Grant
Application Process:
- Contact OGS to start the process at least 1 year in advance of the due date. Training grants are submitted through Cayuse.
- The specific guidelines for each T grant vary. Please refer to the Funding Opportunity Announcement (For example: PA-23-048).
- Follow the SF424 (R&R) Application Guide for T grants.
- Refer to the Data Tables (Forms) page for which tables are required, blank tables, and sample tables.
- If Grad Students are involved:
- For most table information, coordinate with the Graduate student office (Golding) to complete the tables.
- For the remaining information, reach out to the DA in each department to provide the table information for their faculty.
- If Post-Docs are involved:
- There is no central office. Reach out to the DA in each department to provide the table information for their faculty.
- Get the list of faculty trainers.
- Once ready, contact OHRA and IACUC for applicable protocols
Note: For T grants, child care and tuition costs are not subject to IDC.
