Housing and Parking Montefiore offers a limited amount of housing in two apartment buildings; one near the Moses campus and one in Riverdale. However, we recommend living close to Wakefield during your intern year. There are multiple apartment buildings within walking distance. Living in the neighborhood also gives you easy access to Van Cortlandt Park, with running trails, tennis courts and playgrounds. If you don’t mind the commute, there are multiple options. If you have a car, there is discounted parking available across the street from the hospital. If you don’t, you may want to consider living near a Metro North train station (Harlem line), which is especially convenient if you live in Midtown or the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Metro North is also convenient if you live in lower Westchester County. Living near the subway (#2) is an option if you’d like to live on the Upper West Side (but a longer commute, since this train is local). Vacation Residents receive 4 weeks of vacation annually and up to 12 sick days per year. Personal Day Residents are eligible for 1 personal day per quarter, scheduled in advance. Insurance Insurance coverage includes malpractice, medical, dental and life insurance. Other White coats are provided to all residents.
