<p>Patrick F. Timmins III, MD, FACOG, FACS, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Vice Chair, Legislative Affairs at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Timmins addresses the individual needs and demands of patients in a warm and caring environment, providing a full range of gynecologic oncology services, including advanced gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, chemotherapy treatment and palliative care.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at The Ohio State University College of Biological Sciences in 1988, Dr. Timmins earned his Doctor of Medicine, cum laude, at the same institution in 1992. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Magee-Womens Hospital, University of Pittsburgh, in 1996, followed by a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Montefiore Einstein in 1999.</p><p>Dr. Timmins&rsquo; research focuses on recruiting and facilitating patients&rsquo; entry into clinical trials, patient outcomes, as well as mentoring young investigators. He has been principal investigator and co-principal investigator on multiple research projects and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. He has been a reviewer for Gynecologic Oncology for multiple years.</p><p>Dr. Timmins is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Timmins has been named a &ldquo;Top Doctor&rdquo; by Castle Connolly since 2013. In 2020, he was recognized as a Surgeon of Excellence in minimally invasive surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation. Dr. Timmins was recently elected to the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons.</p>

<p>Naum Shaparin, MD, MBA, is Professor and Vice Chair of Business Affairs, Anesthesiology as well as the Director, Multidisciplinary Pain Program at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shaparin's clinical focus is in outpatient interventional pain medicine. He also has interest in general anesthesia, regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine.</p><p>In 1999, Dr. Shaparin received his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Boston University. He went on to attend Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2003. After completing his internship at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Overlook Hospital in 2004, he completed a three-year anesthesiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in 2007. He continued his postgraduate training at Cleveland Clinic, completing a yearlong pain medicine fellowship in 2008. In 2016, he completed his Master of Business Administration at New York University, Stern School of Business.</p><p>Dr. Shaparin's research interests include non-opioid therapies for chronic non-malignant pain, interventional pain procedures, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare delivery and social determinants of health with a focus on patient failure to attend pain clinic appointments. <p>Sarah Evans Norris, MD, MEd, is Director of the Quality in Life Team and Director of Pediatric Palliative Care at Children?s Hospital at Montefiore. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. </p><p>Dr. Norris earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Loyola University Chicago in 1993 receiving the Gladys Kinnery Clinical Excellence award. As a nurse she worked around the globe including as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco before pursuing medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. She completed the Fifth Pathway Program through New York Medical College and embarked on her pediatrics internship at the University of Medicine & Dentistry New Jersey. She finished her residency at the Medical College of Georgia where she was named Resident of the Year. Following residency she completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine and a masters in medical education at Cincinnati Children?s Medical Center. After several years in practice she returned to Cincinnati Children?s to complete a second fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Norris is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.</p> <p>Dr. Norris? research focus is on primary palliative care education and family decision making regarding medical technology. She has given numerous presentations nationally and has a wide range of teaching experience with both adults and children internationally.
