<p>Mauricio Drummond Jr., MD, is an attending surgeon and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics and Orthopedic Surgery at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Drummond&rsquo;s clinical focus is in pediatric sports medicine with a special focus on knee pathology. His interests include pediatric orthopedic surgery, complex pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, ACL, PCL and multiligament knee injuries, discoid meniscus, meniscus transplantation, patellofemoral instability, trochlear dysplasia, cartilage preservation and pediatric trauma and limb deformities.</p><p>In 1996, Dr. Drummond earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He completed his residency training at the same institution, and practiced as a knee specialist for more than 13 years in Brazil. In 2018, he came to the United States, completing an orthopedic surgery research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2019 and an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2020. He continued his postdoctoral training, completing his pediatric orthopedics and limb deformity fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in 2021 and his pediatric orthopedics fellowship at Connecticut Children&rsquo;s Medical Center in 2022.</p><p>Dr. Drummond&rsquo;s research interests include discoid meniscus, trochlear dysplasia, patellofemoral instability and ACL tears. <p>Dr. Yang earned his medical degree at Beijing Medical University in China followed by an orthopaedic residency at Peking University People&rsquo;s Hospital in Beijing, China.&nbsp; Following his training in China, he came to the United States where he earned a Master&rsquo;s degree in Biological Sciences from Hunter College at the City University of New York. Dr. Yang completed a second orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas, in Houston and then he did a fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.</p>
<p>Dr. Yang specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant tumors in the musculoskeletal system. A multidisciplinary approach is emphasized in his practice. He performs surgery to remove the tumor fom the limb and pelvis, and rebuild them using techniques tailored for each individual patient. Dr. Yang is also interested in treating metastatic bony lesions originating from other parts of the body.</p>
<p>Dr. Yang has a strong interest in the research of musculoskeletal tumors. <p>Dr. Wahezi attended medical school at the University of Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. <p>Jacob F. Schulz, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care with an emphasis on spinal deformity, neuromuscular disease and trauma. He has a particular interest in the growing spine, with experience using the vertical expandable titanium rib (VEPTR) device and vertebral tethering through a thoracoscopic approach. <p>Tamar Rubinstein, MD, MS, is a Pediatric Rheumatologist at Children's Hospital at Montefiore and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is the treatment of children, adolescents and young adults with complex rheumatologic diseases, with a special interest in leading multidisciplinary care of patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).</p><p>Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Yale University, Dr. Rubinstein obtained her Medical Doctorate and Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After completing her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Rubinstein then went on to complete her fellowship training in Pediatric Rheumatology at Children's Hospital at Montefiore in 2016</p><p>Dr. Rubinstein has authored numerous publications and continues to actively propose new lines of research with hopes to improve the mental health and SLE disease outcomes in youth. She is an active member of the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and a leader of the CARRA SLE Mental Health Workgroup. Dr. Rubinstein is a recipient of the Lupus Foundation of America Career Development Award and has received additional funding from CARRA for her research investigating mood disorder in pediatric lupus. She is currently a lead investigator in the Einstein Pediatric Lupus Cohort fostering collaborative studies in pediatric rheumatology.</p>

<p>Sarah Evans Norris, MD, MEd, is Director of the Quality in Life Team and Director of Pediatric Palliative Care at Children?s Hospital at Montefiore. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. </p><p>Dr. Norris earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Loyola University Chicago in 1993 receiving the Gladys Kinnery Clinical Excellence award. As a nurse she worked around the globe including as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco before pursuing medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. She completed the Fifth Pathway Program through New York Medical College and embarked on her pediatrics internship at the University of Medicine & Dentistry New Jersey. She finished her residency at the Medical College of Georgia where she was named Resident of the Year. Following residency she completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine and a masters in medical education at Cincinnati Children?s Medical Center. After several years in practice she returned to Cincinnati Children?s to complete a second fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Norris is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.</p> <p>Dr. Norris? research focus is on primary palliative care education and family decision making regarding medical technology. She has given numerous presentations nationally and has a wide range of teaching experience with both adults and children internationally.
