<p>Dr. Mokrzycki&nbsp;is a graduate of&nbsp;Boston College (B.S., 1983),&nbsp;and the University of Vermont College of Medicine (M.D., 1987) and received a&nbsp;Masters&nbsp;of Science&nbsp;in Clinical Research from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (M.S. 2000). She&nbsp;completed&nbsp;both an&nbsp;Internal&nbsp;Medicine Residency and Clinical Nephrology Fellowship at the University&nbsp;of&nbsp;Connecticut Health Science Center in Farmington, CT. &nbsp;Dr Mokrzycki has been on faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine since 1992, where she is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology. &nbsp;She is a full time clinical nephrologist at the Montefiore Medical Center, Moses Campus.</p>
<p>Dr Mokrzycki's&nbsp;research interests have focused primarily on hemodialysis vascular access related complications, specifically,&nbsp;complications associated with tunneled catheter use such as infection/bacteremia/inflammation and dysfunction/thrombosis. &nbsp;</p>
<p>She is the recipient of a grant from the AETNA Foundation to study the effect of a multidisciplinary team approach to improve outcomes associated with catheter bacteremia in hemodialysis patients. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr Mokrzycki&nbsp;served on the Program Committee Member for the National Kidney Foundation (NKF)&nbsp;for 2 years, and on Faculty for the Therapeutic Apheresis Academy (TAA)&nbsp;for&nbsp;5 years, which is&nbsp;held annually at the University of Virginia College of Medicine. She has been an invited speaker and/or chaired sessions&nbsp;at the American Society of Nephrology (ASN),&nbsp;National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the Vascular Access Society (VAS), Hemodialysis University (HDU), Annual Dialysis Conference (ADC), the&nbsp;American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN), and the VEITH symposium.</p>
<p>Dr Mokrzycki served on the Catheter Endpoints Workgroup of the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI), formed by the American Society of Nephrology,the FDA and other stakeholders in End Stage Kidney Disease Innovation. &nbsp;Dr Mokrzycki currently serves as the Chair of the Vascular Accesss Outcomes Workgroup, a subgroup of the Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety Initiative (NTDS), which is a collaboration between the American Society of Nephrology and the Centers for Disease Control.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Michele H. Mokrzycki, MD, MS, is an attending nephrologist and Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Mokrzycki&rsquo;s clinical interests include glomerular diseases, acute and chronic kidney diseases, hypertension, kidney stones, renal cystic diseases, dialysis and vascular access for hemodialysis.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Science from Boston College in 1983, Dr. Morkrzycki pursued her Doctor of Medicine at University of Vermont College of Medicine, earning the degree in 1987. She performed her postdoctoral training at University of Connecticut Health Center, completing her residency in internal medicine in 1990 and her fellowship in clinical nephrology in 1992. Dr. Mokrzycki later pursued additional education, completing her Master of Science in clinical research at Einstein in 2000.</p><p>Author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Mokrzycki&rsquo;s research focuses on reducing hemodialysis vascular access infectious and thrombotic complications. She is on the editorial board for <em>Kidney360</em>, and is an invited reviewer for several publications including the <em>Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Hemodialysis International</em> and the <em>Journal of Vascular Access.</em></p><p>Dr. Mokrzycki is board certified in Nephrology. <p>Wen-Jeng M. Yao, MD, is an Attending Physician and Associate Professor in Ophthalmology at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is on routine and complex cataract surgery, medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, and comprehensive ophthalmology. She enjoys establishing long-lasting relationships with her patients, delivering the highest quality clinical and surgical care in ophthalmology, and teaching residents who are training to become future ophthalmologists.</p><p>After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree at Cornell University, Dr. Yao attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2006. She began her postdoctoral training with a yearlong internship at Saint Peters University Hospital, followed by her residency in ophthalmology at George Washington University in 2010. In 2011, she completed her surgical glaucoma fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.</p><p>Dr. Yao&rsquo;s research interests involve identifying epidemiological associations of glaucoma and advancing surgical and laser techniques for glaucoma therapy. Her work has been shared through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Yao is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. <p>Audrey M. Uong, MD, is an Attending Physician, Division of Hospital Medicine at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team in 2019, her clinical focus has been in pediatrics.</p><p>In 2008, Dr. Uong received her Bachelor of Arts in Asian Languages and Civilizations from Amherst College. Her studies continued at New York Medical College, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. Following this, Dr. Uong continued her studies at Albert Einstein Medical College and received her Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods in 2019. She began her postgraduate training in 2014 with a 3-year internship and residency at Cohen Children&rsquo;s Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at CHAM in 2019.</p><p>The care of hospitalized pediatric patients with asthma has been a main focus of research for Dr. Uong. She is Program Director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship and Co-Director of the Addiction Medicine rotation for medical trainees. An addiction medicine and internal medicine physician, she leads the development and implementation of health system interventions to improve substance use disorder (SUD) care in acute care settings and transitions of care to post-acute and ambulatory care settings.</p>

She is double board certified in addiction medicine and internal medicine and credentialed as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.&nbsp;<br /><br />Dr. Torres-Lockhart completed her fellowship training in addiction medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. Prior to arriving at Montefiore, she completed her residency training in internal medicine and primary care at Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Hospital in Boston, MA, where she also served as primary care chief medicine resident at the West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain Veterans Affairs Medical Centers. She received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She is the PI for a HRSA training grant and co-PI for an OASAS training grant to lead the development of educational opportunities in building the addiction medicine workforce. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the New York Society of Addiction Medicine previously as Communication Chair and now as Secretary.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kristine E. Torres-Lockhart, MD, FASAM, is Director, Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program at Montefiore Einstein, Founding Director, Addiction Consult Service at Weiler Hospital and Assistant Professor, General Internal Medicine and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Torres-Lockhart is a general internist, primary care provider and addiction medicine specialist. She focuses on caring for people who use substances and people with substance use disorders, providing care in hospital settings and in outpatient clinics.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience from Dartmouth College in 2010, Dr. Torres-Lockhart earned her Doctor of Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in 2016. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and primary care at Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Hospital in 2019. Following this, Dr. Torres-Lockhart completed a fellowship in addiction medicine at Montefiore Einstein in 2020.</p><p>Dr. Torres-Lockhart's research focuses on evidence-based and harm-reduction-oriented strategies for addressing substance use disorder care in acute care settings, integration of addiction medicine into medical education and optimizing transitions of care for people who use drugs. She has been principal investigator and co-investigator on funded research projects and her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications.
