<p>Mark I. Travin, MD, FACC, MASNC, is Director of Cardiovascular Nuclear Medicine at Montefiore. He is also a Professor of Radiology and Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on cardiac stress testing, radionuclide myocardial (perfusion and metabolic) imaging, and quantitative blood flow.</p><p>Dr. Travin earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in 1979 at Yale College, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1983 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. After graduating, he went on to complete both an internship and a residency in medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. In 1986, Dr. Travin began a fellowship in cardiology at the Brown University Integrated Fellowship Program. After that, he went on to complete a clinical and research fellowship in medicine and cardiology, with emphasis in nuclear cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. </p><p>Dr. Travin?s research focus is on cardiac innervation radionuclide imaging with I-123 mIBG and analogous PET tracers, and quantitative blood flow assessment with myocardial perfusion PET. He has a significant body of published research on cardiac imaging, and has received numerous awards and honors, including the Cardiology Program Director?s Training Award, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology 2015 Zaret-Beller Distinguished Journal of Nuclear Cardiology Service Award. </p>
Clinical focus is the treatment of coronary artery disease, familial hypercholesterolemia and lipid disorders in both prevention and established diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, hypertension, valvular heart disease and heart failure with a comprehensive clinical and multimodality imaging approach.
Dr. Slipczuk’s research focus is on the identification of high-risk patients and plaque features, lipid disorders, cardiovascular imaging and valvular heart disease.
<p>Leandro Slipczuk Bustamante, MD, PhD, FACC is a board certified cardiologist, Director of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Program and the Cardiovascular Atherosclerosis and Lipid Disorder Center at Montefiore Cardiology Division. Additionally, Dr. Slipczuk is an Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is the treatment of coronary artery disease, familial hypercholesterolemia and lipid disorders in both prevention and established diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, hypertension, valvular heart disease and heart failure with a comprehensive clinical and multimodality imaging approach.</p><p>In 2007, Dr. Slipczuk received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires. He continued studying at this institution, and in 2010 received his Doctor of Philosophy. Dr. Slipczuk began his postgraduate training with a residency in internal medicine at Einstein Medical Center, which he completed in 2013. He then completed a fellowship in cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging in 2016 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.</p><p>Dr. Slipczuk’s research focus is on the identification of high-risk patients and plaque features, lipid disorders, cardiovascular imaging and valvular heart disease. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and articles.</p><p>Dr. Slipczuk is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in cardiovascular CT, comprehensive adult echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is an active member of the National Lipid Association where he is a member of the publications committee as well as the imaging and cardiometabolic working groups. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.</p>

Dr. Shin's clinical focus is on caring for patients with heart failure, particularly providing expertise in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
Heart failure treatment is the primary focus of Dr. Shin’s research. She is the site principal investigator for the effectiveness of omecamtiv mecarbil/AMG 423 to treat chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (GALACTIC-HF) and multiple cardiac sensors for the management of heart failure (MANAGE-HF) trials.
<p>Jooyoung Julia Shin, MD, is Fellowship Director, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Program and Associate Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shin’s clinical focus centers on heart failure, cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1994, Dr. Shin earned her Doctor of Medicine at George Washington University in 1999. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland in 2002 before completing a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Emory University in 2005. Following this, Dr. Shin remained at Emory to complete an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology in 2006.</p><p>Dr. Shin’s research focuses on fellow education. She has been principal investigator and co-principal investigator on several funded research projects, and she has presented at invited lectures nationwide. Her work has also been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and she has been a reviewer for scientific publications, including the <em>Mayo Clinic Proceedings</em>, the <em>American Journal of Cardiology</em> and <em>Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology</em>, among others.</p><p>Dr. Shin is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.</p>

<p>Judah Nathaniel Rauch, MD, is an Interventional Cardiologist at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease. He has a particular interest in the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes, cardiogenic shock and complex coronary disease.</p><p>Dr. Rauch earned his Bachelor of Arts at Yeshiva University in 2006, followed by his Doctor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine in 2010. He began his postdoctoral training at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital, completing a residency in internal medicine in 2013, serving as chief resident in 2014 and completing a fellowship in cardiovascular disease in 2017. In 2018, he completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center; he received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts in the same year.</p><p>Dr. Rauch’s research builds on his clinical interests and is focused on bringing large, multi-site clinical trials to Montefiore, affording patients the opportunity to benefit from new and innovative therapies.</p><p>Dr. Rauch is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.</p>
<p><span>Dr. Marjan Rahmanian is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Neurology. She is an Associate Medical Director of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Montefiore Medical Center. She is also Medical Director of Physician Assistant Critical Care Residency program. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. After completing her training, she joined the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where she served as an Associate Director of Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU at Montefiore Medical center. As a cardiac intensivist, Dr. Rahmanian focuses on the management of post heart surgery like CABG, valve replacemant, Mechanical Circulatory Support like,ECMO, LVAD,Impella, heart and lung transplant.</p>

<p>E. Scott Monrad, MD, CM, is Training Program Director, Cardiovascular Diseases; Director of Cardiovascular Quality; and Vice Chief of Cardiology, Patient Safety and Quality at Montefiore. He is also Professor of Clinical Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on interventional cardiology, hemodynamic assessment of valvular heart disease and hemodynamic assessment of congestive heart failure. He also has an interest in preventive cardiology in outpatients.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in 1975, Dr. Monrad went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery in 1979 from McGill University Medical School in Montreal, Quebec. He attended New England Medical Center Hospital for the start of his postdoctoral training, completing an internship in medicine in 1980, and a residency in 1982. From 1982 to 1985, he was a fellow in the cardiovascular division at the Harvard Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and from 1985 to 1986, he was a research fellow with the cardiology department at Medizinische Poliklinik, Universitaetsspital in Zurich, Switzerland.</p><p>Dr. Monrad’s research focuses on improving clinical outcomes in patients with coronary artery disease. His research findings have been published in many reviewed journals and abstracts. He has also contributed to many books.</p><p>Dr. Monrad has been included in Castle Connolly Top Doctors. He is board certified and is a member of several professional associations.</p>
