<p>Dr. Di Biase, MD, PhD, FACC, FHRS, is a 2000 graduate (summa cum laude) of the medical school and a 2004 graduate (summa cum laude) of the cardiology residency program at the University of Bari, Bari, Italy. In 2006, he completed a second-level master degree in Electrophysiology and Pacing (summa cum laude) at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy.</p>
<p>In 2007, Dr. Di Biase received a grant from the Italian National Society of Cardiology to pursue a research fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Natale at the Miller Family Heart &amp; Vascular Institute at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. The following year, he accepted a position in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Texas Medical School Branch in Galveston, Texas, where he continued to focus on his research projects at St. David's Medical Center under the leadership of Dr. Natale.</p>
<p>Dr. Di Biase was appointed Assistant Professor in 2007 at the University of Foggia, Italy, where he completed the PhD program in cardiovascular physiopathology in November 2010.</p>
<p>In 2009, Dr. Di Biase was appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was promoted to Adjunct Associate Professor in 2012, the same year he joined Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center&nbsp;with the title of Associate Professor, Department of Medicine (Cardiology).</p>
<p>In September 2014 Dr. Di Biase was appointed Section Head of Electrophysiology and Director of Arrhythmia Services at Einstein/Montefiore, while continuing to serve as Senior Researcher at the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David's Medical Center.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Subsequently Dr. Di Biase was promoted to the rank of Professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine (Cardiology).</p>
<p>Dr. Di Biase is the author of more than 450 publications in indexed journals, about 500 abstracts, and 18 electrophysiology book chapters. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences as an invited speaker.</p>

<p>Lili Zhang, MD, is Director, Cardio-Oncology Program and Assistant Professor, Cardiology at Montefiore Einstein. A non-invasive cardiologist and a cardiac imaging specialist, Dr. Zhang&rsquo;s clinical focus is in Cardio-Oncology, cardiomyopathy, general cardiology, echocardiography and multimodality cardiac imaging.</p><p>In 2007, Dr. Zhang earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at Peking University, Beijing, China. Further education and postdoctoral training brought her to the U.S., completing her Master of Science in Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2011. <p>Dr. Ushay is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. </p><p>After obtaining a PhD in Chemistry from Columbia University, Dr. Ushay received his MD from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and completed a Pediatrics residency in the Montefiore-Jacobi-Einstein program. After serving as Chief Resident and a Fellow in Pediatric Pulmonology at Montefiore, he completed a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in 1993. He was a faculty member at NewYork-Presbyterian and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospitals from 1993 to 2005, and he served as Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program Director and Medical Director of the Pediatric Observation Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. </p><p>In 2005 Dr. Ushay became Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Unit in The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. <p>Dr. Matthew Shaines completed a medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center - Brooklyn and an internal medicine residency at Montefiore/Einstein. He was then recruited to the Einstein faculty at Montefiore and became one of the initial group of hospitalists who founded the Teaching Hospitalist Program at Montefiore in 2004.</p>
<p>Dr. Shaines has served as Assistant Director of the Hospitalist Service, managing the Moses Teaching Hospitalist Program; founding Director of the Medicine Consult Service, creating a dedicated medicine consult rotation for the housestaff, with a mission of high quality service and education on topics pertaining to consultative and perioperative medicine; Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, serving as a liaison between the program and the Division of Hospital Medicine. In 2018 he was appointed as the Associate Chief of Hospital Medicine for Education.</p>
<p>His teaching and academic interests are in clinical reasoning, quality improvement and faculty development. He serves as the lead vignette reviewer for Montefiore&rsquo;s annual Division of General Internal Medicine/Division of Hospital Medicine SGIM/SHM scholarly review process, which helps to review and critique abstracts, posters and oral presentations prior to submission.</p>

Biography

<p>Carlos Jose Rodriguez, MD, MPH, FAHA, FACC, is Director, Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Director, Clinical Cardiovascular Research at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is also Vice-Chair, Academic Affairs and Attending Physician, Echocardiology and Cardiology at Montefiore. Dr. Rodriguez&rsquo;s clinical focus is general cardiology, echocardiology, hypertension, heart failure and cholesterol management.</p><p>In 1992, Dr. Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He then attended Columbia University College, receiving both his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees in 1996. In 1996, he began a three-year internship and residency in internal medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. He continued training at this institution and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases in 2002. Dr. Rodriguez then completed an advanced clinical and research fellowship in 2003 at Columbia University&rsquo;s College of Physicians and Surgeons.</p><p>Expanding on his clinical focus, Dr. Rodriguez&rsquo;s research investigates cardiovascular epidemiology and the impact of psychosocial and behavioral factors on cardiovascular health. He has shared his work at many of invited presentations and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and books.</p><p>From 1989 to 1996, Dr. Rodriguez worked with the United States National Guard as a combat medic. In 2007, he received the Columbia University Medical Center Diversity Faculty Research Award.</p><p>Dr. Rodriguez is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.</p>
