Biography

<p>Mark I. Travin, MD, FACC, MASNC, is Director of Cardiovascular Nuclear Medicine at Montefiore. He is also a Professor of Radiology and Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on cardiac stress testing, radionuclide myocardial (perfusion and metabolic) imaging, and quantitative blood flow.</p><p>Dr. Travin earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in 1979 at Yale College, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1983 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. After graduating, he went on to complete both an internship and a residency in medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. In 1986, Dr. Travin began a fellowship in cardiology at the Brown University Integrated Fellowship Program. After that, he went on to complete a clinical and research fellowship in medicine and cardiology, with emphasis in nuclear cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. </p><p>Dr. Travin?s research focus is on cardiac innervation radionuclide imaging with I-123 mIBG and analogous PET tracers, and quantitative blood flow assessment with myocardial perfusion PET. He has a significant body of published research on cardiac imaging, and has received numerous awards and honors, including the Cardiology Program Director?s Training Award, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology 2015 Zaret-Beller Distinguished Journal of Nuclear Cardiology Service Award. </p>

As a clinician-educator he serves as the director of critical care ultrasonography.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background: white;">After receiving his medical degree from the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in 2005, he completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Shiloh joined the Montefiore/Einstein Critical Care faculty in 2010.&nbsp;</p>

Biography

<p>Ariel L Shiloh, MD, is Director, Critical Care Consult Services, Professor, Medicine and Associate Professor, Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shiloh&rsquo;s clinical interests include the early detection and treatment of critical illness, point-of-care ultrasonography for the evaluation of critical illness and advanced airway management.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, Dr. Shiloh attended the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University, Be&rsquo;er Sheva, Israel, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2005. He came to Montefiore for his postdoctoral training, completing his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2008, followed by his fellowship in critical care medicine in 2010.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh's research includes the clinical use of point-of-care ultrasonography in critical illness, improvement of airway management, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations, books, abstracts and poster presentations at national conferences. He has also been a reviewer for several journals including <em>Chest</em>, the <em>American Journal of Critical Care</em> and the <em>European Journal of Anesthesiology</em>.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care and Hospice &amp; Palliative Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. <p>Dr. Matthew Shaines completed a medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center - Brooklyn and an internal medicine residency at Montefiore/Einstein. He was then recruited to the Einstein faculty at Montefiore and became one of the initial group of hospitalists who founded the Teaching Hospitalist Program at Montefiore in 2004.</p>
<p>Dr. Shaines has served as Assistant Director of the Hospitalist Service, managing the Moses Teaching Hospitalist Program; founding Director of the Medicine Consult Service, creating a dedicated medicine consult rotation for the housestaff, with a mission of high quality service and education on topics pertaining to consultative and perioperative medicine; Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, serving as a liaison between the program and the Division of Hospital Medicine. In 2018 he was appointed as the Associate Chief of Hospital Medicine for Education.</p>
<p>His teaching and academic interests are in clinical reasoning, quality improvement and faculty development. <p>Kimberly J. Reidy, MD, is Chief, Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Associate Professor at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is on the treatment of hypertension and childhood-onset kidney disease. She has particular interest in nephrotic syndrome and glomerular diseases, congenital abnormalities of the kidney and urinary tract, and genetic kidney diseases.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry at Princeton University in 1997, Dr. Reidy attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2002. Her postdoctoral training began with a pediatric internship and residency at Children&rsquo;s Hospital of New York, NewYork-Presbyterian from 2002 to 2005. She then pursued a three-year National Institutes of Health (NIH) supported fellowship in pediatric nephrology at CHAM, completing it in 2008.</p><p>Dr. Reidy&rsquo;s clinical research focuses on children with glomerular and chronic kidney disease, including NIH funded Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network (NEPTUNE) and Cure Glomerulonephropathy (CureGN) studies of children with nephrotic syndrome. Her translational research focuses on the effect of APOL1 risk variants on preeclampsia and perinatal outcomes. Her bench research focuses on effects of developmental genes on kidney repair and fibrosis after injury. She has shared her work through many peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations, book chapters and abstracts. Dr. Reidy is also an ad hoc reviewer for many journals including <em>Pediatric Nephrology, Kidney International and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology</em>.</p><p>Dr. Reidy is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. She is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Neonatal Kidney Collaborative. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Section of Nephrology for the AAP. From 2016 through 2021, she has been listed among Castle Connolly Top Doctors: New York Metro Area. Biography

<p>Amanda C. Raff, MD, is Attending Physician, Professor and Associate Chair of Medicine for Undergraduate Medical Education at Montefiore-Einstein. She is also the co-director of the Montefiore-Einstein Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease Program. Dr. Raff&rsquo;s clinical focus is on dialysis and the treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease and end stage kidney disease.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Science in biology at Indiana University, Dr. Raff completed her Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, earning her degree in 1998.&nbsp; Her postdoctoral training began at New York Presbyterian Hospital with an internship and residency in internal medicine from 1998 through 2001. She was assistant chief resident at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2000 and chief resident at New York University Downtown Hospital from 2001 to 2002. She then returned to Montefiore-Einstein to complete a two-year fellowship in nephrology in 2004.</p><p>Dr. Raff&rsquo;s research focuses on medical education. She has been the Course Director for the Einstein medical student Renal Course since 2007 and the Internal Medicine Clerkship and Acting Internship Director since 2012. Dr. Raff&rsquo;s contributions in the field of Medical Education include serving as a Nephrology section committee member for the American College of Physicians&rsquo; Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP) 19 and 20 as well as prior work as a Case Editor for Aquifer Internal Medicine and contributing author and reviewer for the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine (CDIM) curriculum revision.</p><p>An enthusiastic medical educator, Dr. Raff has received several awards for her teaching and in 2010 was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society for outstanding achievement in the teaching of medical students. She is board certified and is a member the American Society of Nephrology and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.</p>
