Lillian Colon
<p>Dr. Lillian Colon joined the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1992, when she became a psychiatry resident, training at the Montefiore Medical Center and associated institutions. Prior to that she had graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1992. After graduating from residency in 1996, Dr. Colon joined the then MMC Schizophrenia Clinic where she participated in conducting trials of antipsychotics and mood stabilizing medications which are still utilized today in patient care. Following her fellowship, she joined the Moses Montefiore Medical Center Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic and the Psychiatry Observation Suite (POS), where she has the pleasure of caring for patients of all ages. She also supervises psychiatry residents, fellows, medical students and psychology Interns.</p>
Dr. Colon's clinical focus is on the acute treatment of emergency room patients presenting with diverse psychiatric symptoms, identifying the possible causes and ensuring prompt treatment.
Dr. Colon’s research interests focus on the efficacy of new pharmacological agents in treating psychotic symptoms.
<p>Lillian Colon, MD, MS, FAPA, is Attending Psychiatrist at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on the acute treatment of emergency room patients presenting with diverse psychiatric symptoms, identifying the possible causes and ensuring prompt treatment.
</p><p>From 1992 to 1996 she was a psychiatric resident with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with rotations at Montefiore Medical Center, North Central Bronx Hospital, Jacobi Medical Center and Bronx Psychiatric Center. From 1996 to 1997, she was a schizophrenia research fellow at the Montefiore Medical Center Schizophrenia Clinic.

Ammar Y. Ahmad
Dr. Ahmad's clinical focus is psychosomatic medicine, with particular interest in heart and lung transplant psychiatry.
Dr. Ahmad’s research focuses on psychosomatic medicine and medical ethics, particularly in the area of organ transplantation selection.
<p>Ammar Yasser Ahmad, MD, is Attending Psychiatrist at Montefiore. His clinical focus is psychosomatic medicine, with particular interest in heart and lung transplant psychiatry.</p><p>In 2007, Dr. Ahmad received his Bachelor of Science in history and biology at the University of Pittsburgh. He then attended St. George’s University, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 2014. He began his postgraduate training in 2015 with a four-year residency in psychiatry at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, becoming Chief Resident in his final year. In 2019, he began a yearlong fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Montefiore. In 2020, Dr. Ahmad completed the certificate program in bioethics and medical humanities at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.</p><p>Dr. Ahmad’s research focuses on psychosomatic medicine and medical ethics, particularly in the area of organ transplantation selection. His work has been published in a number of abstracts.</p><p>In 2020, Dr. Ahmad received the Davidoff Teaching Award. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. </p>
