Michael L. Swerdlow
<p>Dr. Michael Swerdlow graduated from The University Of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He did a medical residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. He then completed the neurology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in The Bronx. He then did a fellowship Neuromuscular diseases at the N.I.H. in Bethesda. He joined the faculty at Montefiore Hospital and Albert Einstein College. He presently is a Professor of Clinical Neurology. He has a large faculty practice with Dr. David Kaufman as "K and S." He teaches residents and supervises the Neurology Clinic and is involved in CME teaching. Special areas of interest include muscle disorders, Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple Sclerosis and disorders of the spine.</p>
Howard Geyer
<p>Dr. Howard Geyer is Director, Division of Movement Disorders, Montefiore, and Assistant Professor, Neurology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He was chief resident in Neurology at Montefiore, where he also completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology. He completed an additional fellowship in Movement Disorders at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Geyer regularly lectures and contributes to book chapters and journal articles on a variety of neurologic topics.</p>

Ronda L. Facchini
<p>Ronda Facchini, PhD, is Director, Neuropsychology Externship Training Program at Montefiore Einstein and Instructor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Facchini's clinical focus is on clinical neuropsychology across the lifespan with a particular focus on pediatric neuropsychology.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in medical psychology from Bridgewater State College in 1983, Dr. Facchini completed medical sciences courses including physiology and chemistry at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in 1984. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in health psychology at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in 1995. Dr. Facchini completed an internship and post-doctoral training in neuropsychology at Montefiore in 1997.</p><p>Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Facchini’s research interests include neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegenerative disorders and neuropsychological components of medical conditions. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Facchini is a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology (AAPdN), the International Neuropsychological Society (INS) and the New York State Association of Neuropsychology (NYSAN).</p>
Ammar Y. Ahmad
Dr. Ahmad's clinical focus is psychosomatic medicine, with particular interest in heart and lung transplant psychiatry.
Dr. Ahmad’s research focuses on psychosomatic medicine and medical ethics, particularly in the area of organ transplantation selection.
<p>Ammar Yasser Ahmad, MD, is Attending Psychiatrist at Montefiore. His clinical focus is psychosomatic medicine, with particular interest in heart and lung transplant psychiatry.</p><p>In 2007, Dr. Ahmad received his Bachelor of Science in history and biology at the University of Pittsburgh. He then attended St. George’s University, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 2014. He began his postgraduate training in 2015 with a four-year residency in psychiatry at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, becoming Chief Resident in his final year. In 2019, he began a yearlong fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Montefiore. In 2020, Dr. Ahmad completed the certificate program in bioethics and medical humanities at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.</p><p>Dr. Ahmad’s research focuses on psychosomatic medicine and medical ethics, particularly in the area of organ transplantation selection. His work has been published in a number of abstracts.</p><p>In 2020, Dr. Ahmad received the Davidoff Teaching Award. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. </p>
