<p>Rubina Shakil Khokhar, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology at Montefiore Einstein. She is also Clerkship Site Leader, Wakefield Campus for Medical Education-Ob/Gyn. Her clinical focus centers on teaching obstetrics &amp; gynecology to medical students and residents.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1987 from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, Dr. Khokhar completed her residency in obstetrics &amp; gynecology at Nishtar Hospital in 1987. She then completed another residency in obstetrics &amp; gynecology at Azad Jammu and Kashmir Hospital in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan, in 1991. Following this, Dr. Khokhar participated in an obstetrics &amp; gynecology fellowship at Post-Graduate Institute in Lahore, Pakistan, completing it in 1992. Dr. Khokhar then came to New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens (Cornell University) to complete a residency in general surgery in 1999 before completing an additional residency in obstetrics &amp; gynecology at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, University Hospital of New York Medical College in 2006.</p><p>Dr. Khokhar is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetric &amp; Gynecology (ACOG). She speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Medical Spanish. She has received accolades for excellence in teaching medical students, including recognition by the Leo M. Davidoff Society and receiving a certificate of appreciation for excellence in teaching from NY Medical College, 2003 &ndash; 2006.</p>

Biography

<p>Neal D. Hoffman, MD, is an Attending Physician in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics at Montefiore (CHAM), and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is in general pediatrics and adolescent medicine, with interests in school-based health care, chronic illness management and reproductive and sexual health. Dr. Hoffman joined Montefiore's School Health Program in 2002, where he was Medical Director from 2005-2017. Dr. Hoffman was the Medical Director at Montefiore's Adolescent AIDS Program from 1994 to 2001. </p><p>Dr. Hoffman attended Boston University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine in 1987. He completed a Medical Internship at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in 1988. From 1988 to 1991, he was Pediatric Resident at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, after which he was Pediatric Chief Resident for one year. From 1992-1994, Dr. Hoffman completed a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. </p><p>Dr. Hoffman is currently the Principal Investigator of a 5-year NIDA-funded R01 Implementation Science Project on universal HIV testing and targeted HIV prevention protocol in school-based health centers. He completed a fellowship in 2016-2017 in Practice-Based Research Methodology through an AHRQ-funded program at Case Western University Medical Center, when he started developing a research study to compare adolescent and parent responses for assessment of asthma severity and control. Dr. Hoffman participated in the Performance Improvement Course at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore in 2018. Dr. Hoffman's research has been published in numerous reviewed journals and articles, book chapters, and abstracts. </p><p>In 2013, Dr. Hoffman received the Bronx Community Health Network Community Health Leadership Award. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. </p>

<p>Pe&rsquo;er Dar, MD, is Director of Fetal Medicine and OBGYN Ultrasound at Montefiore and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women&rsquo;s Health at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Dar&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the care of women who carry babies with disorders and medical conditions that may affect their lives and he leads the Fetal Medicine and Surgery Team at Montefiore. He particularly specializes in diagnosis and management of medical and structural abnormalities in the fetus and in complicated twin and triplet pregnancies. His expertise include performing detailed ultrasound examination of the fetus including fetal echocardiography (scanning of the fetal heart) and fetal neurosonography (scanning of the fetal brain) as well as performing in-utero fetal surgeries such as fetoscopic laser surgery for monochorionic twins with twin to twin transfusion syndrome, in-utero blood transfusion for fetuses with anemia and in-utero drainage and shunt procedures. Dr. Dar is also experienced in performing amniocentesis, chorionic villous sampling (CVS) and multifetal selective reduction for multiple pregnancies.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Dr. Dar completed his Doctor of Medicine from Tel-Aviv University in Tel-Aviv, Israel in 1986. He started his postgraduate education at Assaf Harofe Medical Center, Tel-Aviv University, with a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a specialty in high-risk pregnancies from 1992 through 1998. He then came to Montefiore-Einstein, completing a two-year fellowship in medical and reproductive genetics. After spending two years as an attending-specialist in the field of prenatal diagnosis he completed in 2005 three-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Montefiore-Einstein. In 2007, he completed additional training in fetal surgery in world-known fetal surgery centers in France and Belgium. &nbsp;</p><p>Dr. Dar is very active in research and he is currently the principal investigator in many studies including international multicenter studies. His research focus is in fetal medicine and surgery, non-invasive prenatal screening and placenta accreta spectrum. He has shared his work in many peer-reviewed journals, textbook chapters, abstracts and invited presentations. He is also a reviewer for national and international journals including the <em>American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plos one and Prenatal Diagnosis. </em></p><p>Dr. Dar is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Clinical Genetics and is a member of several professional societies including the Society of Maternal and Fetal Medicine, International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been regularly listed among Castle Connolly Top Doctors for obstetrics and gynecology in the New York Metro area.</p>

<p>Susan M. Coupey, M.D., a nationally and internationally recognized adolescent medicine specialist, is Professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Chief Emerita of the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. She was elected to the American Pediatric Society in 1998 and served as President of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology for the 2002-2003 academic year. Dr. Coupey serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.&nbsp; In 2005, she was honored with the Adele Dellenbaugh Hofman Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section on Adolescent Health for excellence in the field of adolescent health.</p>

<p>Dr. Coupey earned her bachelor&rsquo;s degree from Queen&rsquo;s University in Kingston, Ontario and, in 1975, her M.D. degree from the University of British Columbia&rsquo;s Faculty of Medicine where she won the Whitelaw Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. &nbsp;She completed her clinical training with a rotating internship at the Montreal General Hospital, pediatric residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital, and fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. Upon graduation from fellowship, she joined the pediatrics faculty at Einstein/Montefiore where she has remained throughout her career, achieving promotion to Professor of Pediatrics in 1993. Dr. Coupey was appointed as Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore in 2002 and served for 16 years until stepping down from that leadership position in February 2018. Currently, she remains active as an attending physician with the Division of Adolescent Medicine.</p>

<p>Dr. Coupey&rsquo;s academic and research interests include adolescent gynecology and reproductive endocrinology, adolescent bone health and vitamin D metabolism, as well as psychosocial effects of chronic illness in the adolescent age group. Her bibliography includes more than 125 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books as well as more than 75 published abstracts.&nbsp; She frequently was invited to speak at regional, national, and international medical meetings and delivered keynote addresses at meetings in Berlin (1996), Manila (1997), Buenos Aires (1999), Jerusalem (2000), and Athens (2000).</p>

<p>Dr. Coupey was Director of the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 17 years, retiring from this educational leadership position in June 2007. In this role, she was responsible for curriculum development and implementation of three required medical school courses that teach medical interviewing and physical diagnosis skills to all first- and second-year students using innovative learner- centered, small group-based educational strategies. Dr Coupey was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, as the 1998 faculty inductee by the graduating students of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was honored with the Harry F. Gordon Award for outstanding clinical teaching at the 2002 graduation ceremony. In 2008, she was selected as the recipient of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Honorary Alumna Award.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Susan M. Coupey, M.D., a nationally and internationally recognized adolescent medicine specialist, is Professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. She was elected to the American Pediatric Society in 1998 and served as President of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology in 2002-2003. Dr. Coupey was honored with the Adele Dellenbaugh Hofman Award for excellence in the field of adolescent health by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section on Adolescent Health in 2005.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Coupey earned her bachelor&rsquo;s degree from Queen&rsquo;s University in Kingston, Ontario and, in 1975, her M.D. degree from the University of British Columbia&rsquo;s Faculty of Medicine where she won the Whitelaw Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement.&nbsp; She completed her clinical training with a rotating internship at the Montreal General Hospital, pediatric residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital, and fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. Upon graduation from fellowship, she joined the pediatrics faculty at Einstein/Montefiore where she has remained throughout her career, achieving promotion to Professor of Pediatrics in 1993.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Coupey&rsquo;s academic and research interests include adolescent gynecology and reproductive endocrinology as well as psychosocial effects of chronic illness in the adolescent age group. Her bibliography includes more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books as well as more than 50 published abstracts. She is frequently invited to speak at regional, national, and international medical meetings and has presented more than 60 lectures and workshops since 2000, as well as keynote addresses at meetings in Berlin (1996), Manila (1997), Buenos Aires (1999), Jerusalem (2000), and Athens (2000).</p><p class="MsoBodyText">Dr. Coupey was Director of the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 17 years, retiring from this post in June 2007. In this role, she was responsible for curriculum development and implementation of three required medical school courses that teach medical interviewing and physical diagnosis skills to all first- and second-year students using innovative learner- centered, small group-based educational strategies. Dr. Coupey was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, as the 1998 faculty inductee by the graduating students of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was honored with the Harry F. Gordon Award for outstanding clinical teaching at the 2002 graduation ceremony. In 2008, she was selected as the recipient of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Honorary Alumna Award.</p><p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tamar G. Baer, MD, is Associate Fellowship Program Director, Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. <p>Elizabeth M. Alderman, MD, a nationally recognized specialist in adolescent medicine, is Professor of Pediatrics and Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and Women&rsquo;s Health at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Alderman is the Chief, Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. She is currently the Program Director of the Post-doctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine and is past Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Alderman is founder of the Montefiore Adolescent Primary Care Initiative.</p>
<p>Dr. Alderman received her BS, with honors, from Cornell University and MD with Distinction in Research from the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School where she was selected for membership to Alpha Phi Omega medical honors society. Dr. Alderman completed her pediatrics residency and adolescent medicine fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center.</p>
<p>She joined the pediatric faculty at Einstein/Montefiore upon completion of her fellowship in 1992 and has remained throughout her career, achieving promotion to professor in 2003.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Alderman is the Co-chairperson of the AAP Council of Adolescent and Young Adult Health. She was Chair of the AAP Committee on Adolescence for 4 years and was previously a member of for the 6 years. She served as Chairperson of the AAP Section of Adolescent Health Executive Committee from 2008-2012. As a member of AAP NY Chapter 3 Executive Council for over 25 years, she has served as chair of the Committee on Adolescence and on its Executive Committee. She is a past-president of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and former Member at Large of the Board of Directors for the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. Dr. Alderman has been a leader or panelist on many national initiatives related to adolescent health.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Alderman&rsquo;s clinical interests include care for adolescents with heavy menstrual bleeding, contraception for adolescents with chronic illness, menstrual disorders, eating disorders and overall adolescent sexual health. She is co-editor of the AAP Textbook of Adolescent Health Care. Dr. Alderman has authored 65 research papers, review articles and chapters. She has presented over 40 abstracts at national meetings and delivered over 50 lectures and workshops in the past 5 years at regional and national meetings.</p>
<p>Dr. Alderman is known nationally and throughout the region as an outstanding clinician and she is regularly named to the &ldquo;Best Doctors in New York&rdquo; and &ldquo;New York Super Doctors&rdquo; lists. In 2003, the American Academy of Pediatrics recognized her with a Special Achievement Award from the New York Chapter for promoting adolescent health.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Elizabeth M. Alderman, MD, FAAP, FSAHM, is Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM). She is also a Professor of Pediatrics and Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and Women&rsquo;s Health at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Alderman&rsquo;s clinical focuses are on office gynecology, including a special practice for girls with heavy menstrual bleeding or abnormal vaginal bleeding, as well as the medical management of eating disorders. Her clinical expertise also includes reproductive health for both adolescent boys and girls. She joined the Montefiore team as faculty in 1992.</p><p>Dr. Alderman received her Bachelor of Science with Honors, from Cornell University, College of Agriculture and Life Science in 1983. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree with Distinction in Research, from State University of New York at Stony Book in 1987. Dr. Alderman began a residency in Pediatrics in 1987, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Montefiore and Einstein. </p><p>Dr. Alderman&rsquo;s research interests focus on quality improvement in the delivery of adolescent health care and health screening. In 2013, she received the Adele Dellenbaugh Hoffman Award for excellence in adolescent medicine, given by the American Academy of Pediatrics.</p><p>Dr. Alderman is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of many professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she is currently the Chair of the Committee of Adolescence and past chairperson of the Section of Adolescent Health Executive Committee, the Society for Adolescent Medicine, as a former Executive Board member and the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology of which she was past president.</p>
